hey, why don't you date JH from season 1(changmin ex) 😁
Oh, so we are MEASURING people's value AND we are doing it according to the criteria of "a public figure or not"? 🤡 mental gymnastics are crazy in this comment.
I wouldn't let SW off the hook just yet. My complaint with him has never been that he shops around. It's that…
I just "love" when people use "my gut feelings tell me this and that". The synonym of: source -"trust me bro". I immediately was convinced in what you said! (nope) I get it, everyone may have their assumptions on contestants' feelings, but trying to fit all of his actions into your ✨theory ✨ is not it.

Wow, thanks for sharing your personal experience! Because the this info does alternate the perception of the situation. I'm happy to hear that there are changes (even though the fact of appearance of reality shows about lgbtq+ community in South Korea speaks for itself) it's better to hear from the witnesses

Maybe the idea of coming out for cafe promotion is just wild to me and that's why I immediately took it out of the reasons of him participating in the show. I'll be honest, I hope it's not for promotion. If it is, then, what can I say, it is what it is. Not gonna lie, I would be more glad to find out he did it for himself and his own growth.

If so, nice to hear that he's pretty "safe" at that aspect. Maybe you're right, this was definitely a new info to me about lgbtq+ acceptance in different areas of Seoul. Thanks for enlightening!
About SeonWoo, I felt a bit sorry for him when he was in his Gelato store. It was like he touched reality after…
I think that's wonderful that these contestants had this opportunity. They made friends, they had freedom of showing their interest in other men without being judged. Some of them will maybe even find boyfriends. But this episode really had this reality kick for some guys. For some of them this project seemed to be the most liberating experience. You noted it very well
Seonwoo is the contestant I am interested in seeing on the screen the most. He's a mystery to me. I have a lot of respect for him as well as for the other contestants, even if I don't vibe with some of his decisions. He recognises his personal problems: people pleasing, indecisiveness, being too dependant on other people's opinion. And we can see that these things do stand on his way in life, even on the show. He deprived himself of some opportunities he could've had if he managed to act according to his true feelings, not the desire to thank every person interested in him for choosing him. At the same time, he does like appreciation from a big amount of people. It encourages him but makes him feel obligated to do something in return as well, he strives to meet their expectations. A vicious circle. But the thing that caught my eye the most is not this. Why is he on the program? I mean, most people come to gain followers on Instagram or any other personal blog, but he doesn't seem to be very interested in that, as for cafe promotion - there are many ways of doing it without the risk of being judged by society for your sexual orientation. He seems to be a rather ordinary, not public at all person. Is it his personal milestone? To come to this show, to finally come out, after 32 years, to not meet the expectations of many people around him but still do it? If I suggested correctly, then I only want to say that this person is trying to work on his insecurities, step by step, but doing better. I wish him all the best on this journey! I hope he'll feel more free, comfortable with himself and confident in his personality in the nearest future. I like these contestants. Most of them left a really nice impression on me. Can't wait to see the next episodes.
Not judging, but it's obvi that SW is there to promote his gelato cafe. He also seems to be a people pleaser,…
There are safer ways of promoting your cafe than coming out publicly in SK. I don't think promotion was his primal goal. I think it was to finally come out, for himself, maybe as a step of fighting with his people pleaser side. And, if lucky, find a bf and make friends in the community.
Ofc everyone is allowed to express their opinion, but they should be aware of the other person's rights while doing it. So calling a person bad names is not part of the "I'm just expressing my opinion" knowing they won't have any responsibility for the words they say. I'm not a huge fan of SeonWoo either, but I respect him as much as the other participants who were brave enough to come out publicly in South Korea, for contributing into changing social prejudice. It's already a lot of stress, and it just seems like basic human decency to support the guys either than hating on any of them. Even when the questionable actions are made and we might not like some contestants' personality-wise there are ways to point that out without calling the person names. This comment is not directed specifically to you, don't get me wrong. Your message just seemed to be a proper place to bring up this topic and add new ideas to your message. I hope the show will end well for all of the cast (as well as an after show period won't be mentally difficult for any of them) even if they don't find "their man". P.S. The way I just wanted to see some spoilers for the new episode this Friday on Twitter and got dozens of posts with the same content I described earlier... Now I only check this page from time to time. Don't know if there's as much hate on other platforms, here it's pretty chill (mostly)
I definitely feel the saddest for Makki. He seemed to be the sincerest and bravest in his honesty out of the trio.…
Totally agree with you on that scene and blow drying hair. Honestly, I was generalizing for the most part, but that sex scene sucked for sure, and yeah, I agree that it tells us something about Asato as well. I probably should've mentioned this episode in my review but I really didn't feel like I understand wtf is that and how to explain it to myself from emotional side completely. Didn't they go on to the relationship too fast as if forgetting what a weird kind of relationship they had?
I enjoyed the vibe of the drama. The cinematography is probably what made it feel like a story of real people…
I definitely feel the saddest for Makki. He seemed to be the sincerest and bravest in his honesty out of the trio. He does possess some traits that make him look childish. He seems light-hearted and not so serious at times, but boy is definitely emotionally mature (episode with Mieko and safety belt, for instance, not everyone would suggest that this situation might remind her of her father). What he does have from a kid is open-mindedness. Truly amazed me how unprejudiced he was towards Eiji's confession to him. Vice versa, he was open to try to build the relationship with him. However, even while being portrayed as a sociable and easy-going guy whom people liked, he still seems to be the loneliest out of the trio. We never got to see his parents, family, previous friends. Was there someone to help him before Asato appeared in his life? Most probably there was none. Our boy was eating god knows what years after trio's break up. What I liked about the relationship between Asato and Makki is mutual respect of boundaries. No rushing in getting to know personal stuff, helping each other out in solving problems. The way Asato understood that there was something form the past that still bothered Makki, didn't solve the problem for Makki but encouraged him to close past gestalt himself while being by his side and supporting him is the greenest flag ever. And good job to Makki as well, he managed it so well (even though I haven't seen the subtitles yet)
I enjoyed the vibe of the drama. The cinematography is probably what made it feel like a story of real people - stylish, natural, a little gloomy, even when portraying the characters during their happiest times, as if some bitter feeling of upcoming disaster was there. Even if the tropes are not the most realistic, I still think that the drama does feel realistic and probably thanks to the way it's shown different stages of the characters' friendship and their lives in separation as well. Liked the way Makki character development was shown. He's both the most interesting and mysterious character for me.
