I started watching this on 7/18 when you gave me the link and finished the next morning 7/19 at 2:45 am. I was so tired, I forgot to write any notes! So, when I checked our messages today, I was like, “Hmm, I wonder what magical thoughts I put in my review so I can respond to Ember”, aaand …there was nothing. Bahaahaa. I’m a dingbat sometimes.

Ember, your review is wonderful! 💗 Here’s my thoughts.

Quality of production is good. ML does a great job acting like a robot and also showing how hard it would be to keep up the persona. I could feel the awkwardness and frustration when he tried not to give himself away. The FL seems a little too stupid, but she ALSO seems like she's authentically struggling with her social-phobia and androhobia to a degree that denial and delusion is plausible. At first, before I realized what was going on, I thought it was creepy that the ML pretended to be a robot to get close to her. However, as the plot progressed and I realized how severe her issues were and that she might never be able to be around a male long enough to heal, date or even get married, I felt bad for her and was glad her bff and the ML figured out a way to intervene. Acting like a robot seems like a genius idea at that point. 🤖. Desperate times, desperate measures! Haha. AAAnyway, I enjoyed this drama! Thank you for sharing it, I was living in anticipation until you found that link. Lol 😄.

First of all, this is the prettiest review I've EVER seen. I love the cursive and flourish text on the outer sides. Very creative! 💗 Second, your review is perfect. I read it after watching last night and the whole review resonated. Hou Chengyue said something in the beginning that I've ALWAYS wished a FL would say to the ML. 00:07, “I have a condition. You said you don’t like me, its okay. But… You can’t be mean to me. I can’t stand being wronged.” Obviously, Wang Haozhen was a perfect man, so he treated her like gold, but in other dramas it drives me nuts when either lead doesn't make clarifying statements like this. Something so simple as saying, "Its okay if you don't like me, but I won't put up with you being a cruel jerk". The writing in this drama was SO great. Everything was great.

Is THIS an adaptation? I watched it and it felt like it was, but sometimes the dramas flow together and its just a lot of similarities. 😬 (Leads have forced marriage due to elder, get divorced due to MAJOR misunderstangs and lack of communication, but secretly liked each other the whole time. This one has NO illness /cancer / misdiagnosis.)

Sorry, I know I keep taking up your messages today. ;) I JUST now finished this drama (only because I wanted to see how the adaptation compared to the Wang Nan version). Your review is very good and half-glass full. You really did a great job pointing out the good parts (and they were!). After I was finished, ALL I could think was, this was one of the most boring dramas I've EVER seen. Haha. But, thinking positively... I did love that the leads had a supportive, committed relationship and were SUPER kind to each other. I just wish they had more charisma /personality as characters (or actors?). Although, like you mentioned, when FL said "die another day" to her ex, that was awesome. 😄

Lol. True! Watching all that intense craziness needs to be vented. 😉 But that is such a good point... Since many verticals lack information, ESPECIALLY a good synopsis, I REEEALLY appreciate being able to read viewer's opinions. And weirdly, spoilers never bother me because I'm MORE afraid of wasting time on a drama that I wish I could have skipped.

Ah, yes, that is so true. Everything you said is spot on. I actually tend to write a lot of spoilers probably, and not helpful stuff. :/ I should pay more attention to that also.

Raiana, I really like your review. 😍. I agree, I wanted the ML to wear something casual instead of a suit at the tent. I've noticed C-dramas doing that A LOT at camping scenes, even going hiking in business clothes and the FL wearing high heels. WHY? Lol. That would be so uncomfy. Anyway... I love your mention of the Spiderman scene. That was so cute.
