First of all I'd like to add on to what you said. During the bar scene when pete was wearing a shirt without buttoning all the buttons like pete would usually do, he left some unbuttoned. The most obvious reason for pete to do that was because he wanted to dress like vegas as he missed him. But I think the director or whoever made that decision also wanted us to see how mostly his wounds have healed. That it's been quite some time since vp last met. That most probably Vegas wanted to give Pete some space before meeting him.
