skipped and fast forwarded scenes try to find my girl song zu er🤨 wonder if they switched fl
Omg right?! We’re nearly halfway through the drama and sis is still M.I.A. Not even a shadow! 😭 I’m really enjoying the show, but let’s be real she was one of the main reasons I was hyped in the first place. They better stop playing and drop her in tomorrow’s episodes. Fingers crossed and eyes peeled! šŸ‘€āœØ

Filter is one of the best dramas of 2024, delivering the purest message: always stay true to yourself. Be you, unapologetically. The world will adjust—not the other way around. This simple yet powerful theme makes it stand out in a sea of dramas, reminding us that self-acceptance is the first step toward real happiness.

You are not the only one I was thinking the same thing yesterday... No ordinary person could break the illusion…
That’s what I was thinking too!
There are different forms of love and like, and the way they portrayed it between Zhang Suan and Si Ling didn’t really feel romantic to me. It didn’t come across as the kind of ā€œlikeā€ between a man and a woman — it felt more complex, almost like admiration, or even a kind of emotional dependency.

Plus, the way Si Ling treats him sometimes feels more maternal, like she’s looking out for a younger sibling or even a child. And let’s not forget his hatred for BJS — that kind of rage doesn’t come from some forbidden love triangle, especially since nothing inappropriate ever happened between them. to me his feelings for Si Ling remain rooted in admiration and attachment, not love

And based on how he described his feelings, it really didn’t sound romantic to me either.
But hey, maybe that’s just my crazy theory šŸ˜…

Am I the only one going crazy thinking that Zhang Suan might actually be the son of BJS and Si Ling?

I 100% agree with everything. The writing is really lacking. The drama has been holding back her reasons for getting…
You read my mind — Everything you said tracks, and honestly, that whole theory about them secretly working together or him suffering for her is one of the only ways this plot could redeem itself at this point.

The drama thinks it’s clever, but it’s just messy. Like—give us one coherent motivation! We’re 20+ episodes deep and still don’t fully know what BJS did to deserve 300 years of emotional warfare. And you’re so right—the forced twists are exhausting. They act like they’re delivering Shakespeare-level betrayals, but it’s just plot holes wrapped in dramatic music.

BJS’s whiplash behavior makes NO sense unless he’s been undercover/sacrificing himself the whole time. Otherwise, it’s straight-up emotional manipulation, and not in a good, morally gray antihero way......

And yeah… the OTP dynamic is toxic right now. If they do end up together, the only way it works is if we get a huge explanation flashback dump to justify everything—because right now it’s giving ā€œBoy, RUN.ā€........

According to the trailer, she did say he’ll fall back into her trap, which shows she’s not planning to stop.…
That’s a really good point. I do get that her pain runs deep, and you’re right, both of them are hurting but refusing to break first. I think what’s frustrating for me is that I want to root for them, but the way it’s being written just feels like emotional circles instead of actual growth sometimes.

And I totally agree — he’s not innocent in this either. He’s terrible at communicating, which makes things worse. I just wish the writing gave us more layered conversations or emotional beats instead of constant dragging.

I’m hanging in though šŸ¤ I hope you’re right about the next few episodes. Fingers crossed it finally breaks through all the buildup!

I really want to stay positive, but I’m also trying to stop having expectations because I keep feeling disappointed. The script isn’t making sense, and certain things just aren’t adding up.

Her hatred for him is also getting annoying — there’s no clear story or event explaining it properly. Every time it feels like we’re getting closer to the cause of the misunderstanding, it just gets dragged out even more. And with all the pranks and fake reconciliations, it’s really starting to get on my nerves because none of it is making sense anymore.

I was actually liking the drama up until she killed him and they got sent back to where they first stayed in the mortal realm. I get what the writer is trying to do — probably letting him experience the hardship of the mortal realm the way she did — but honestly, I think they should’ve changed their approach. The story needs a different strategy because this one isn’t hitting like it should.

It’s honestly frustrating when a drama starts off strong, builds up good momentum, and then starts spiraling with weak writing, dragging misunderstandings, or repetitive tropes. That endless loop of ā€œalmost clearing up the misunderstanding, but nope, here’s another fake reconciliation or prankā€ — kills emotional investment. It starts feeling like the plot is delaying on purpose instead of progressing naturally.

And yes — her hatred for him not having a solid foundation or clear backstory makes it even worse. Like… how am I supposed to stay emotionally attached if I don’t even fully understand why she’s this mad? Especially when you can tell the drama is dragging things for ā€œangst points,ā€ but not really earning it with good storytelling.

That whole ā€œsending them back to the mortal realmā€ twist could have been brilliant — like, showing growth, showing that he finally experiences her pain, flipping their dynamic. But the execution feels messy. Like… we get the idea, but the execution is tiring. I think a different strategy would’ve been way more satisfying than just another cycle of fake reconciliation or misunderstandings.

I also don’t get the whole angle of her hatred reaching the point of self-destruction and involving innocent people... It’s like they’re pushing it too far without a proper buildup. It’s frustrating because this drama could have been so much better with tighter writing and more emotional depth.

I also feel like through all this fake makeup and fake reconciliation, she’s trying to relay a message to him — almost like a reflection of her past and what she went through. It’s just that the way they’re going about it makes it feel a little boring, dull, repetitive, and never-ending. I get what they’re trying to do, but it’s being dragged so much that the emotional weight is starting to fade.

I’m going to keep watching to see if it improves, but right now it’s not living up to its potential. Hopefully, it turns around, because I wanted to love this drama.

I just finished watching the drama and this comment sums it up perfectlyšŸ˜‚ The amount of times I paused because…
RIGHT?! I would devour that fanfic like I’ve been fasting for three days — because the way the writers left us starving for common sense? Criminal. šŸ˜‚

NO CAP for real how did the Queen Mother survive palace life that long with the IQ of a decorative pillow? Sis couldn’t see through the simplest schemes or a fake smile to save her life. But sure, let’s blame everyone else while she sips tea like they aint all apart of the problem. The math is not mathing.

And don’t even get me started on the ending — they really had the nerve to roll credits without anyone realizing the ex-Crown Princess was the real villain. LIKE??? It was right there. Peak clownery. 🤔

And that whole mess with the King acting like a discount villain — sir, you’ve got the audacity to point fingers when you’re out here doing dirt yourself? They really missed a moment to humble him properly. All that wasted potential makes me want to sue.

Chaotic. Unhinged. But I’d be first in line for that fanfic. Somebody’s gotta fill the void, and clearly it’s not gonna be the writers.

Whew… where do I even start?

This drama had potential — I’m talking serve me royal romance on a silver platter potential. The first few episodes? Cute. Promising. And then? It tripped, stumbled, and face-planted into messy plots, childish schemes, and characters making decisions like their brains were on airplane mode.

Let’s break it down:

First up, the Crown Princess. I don’t even know where to begin with her. She’s out here acting like the world’s against her, crying in corners, yet REFUSING to help herself. Girl, it’s not character development if you just stay stupid the whole show. Not once did she think, ā€œMaybe I should speak up for myself.ā€ Nope. Just tears, whining, and questionable choices.

And the Crown Prince? He’s emotionally constipated, sure, but he at least tries in his cold, awkward way. I’ll give him half a star for effort. But she? She’s busy emotionally bonding with the OTHER prince like she’s not a whole married woman. And then has the nerve to get upset when the Crown Prince breathes near another woman. The math ain’t mathing.

Don’t even get me started on Second Female Lead Syndrome. This girl is the president of Delusion Nation. If you wanted the man, SAY YES the first time. But no, you chased status and now you’re salty because someone else has what you didn’t want when it was offered. Girl. Heal.

And the palace schemes? Please. I’ve seen elementary school drama with more depth. How are the royal adults THIS clueless? I’m embarrassed for them.

Now, for the fun part:

Kokowa Drama Starter Pack Checklist:

āœ… Doormat Female Lead with Negative Self-Esteem

āœ… Emotionally Damaged, Cold Male Lead with Hidden Feelings

āœ… Clingy, Whiny Second Male Lead who needs to sit down

āœ… Delusional Second Female Lead living in her own K-Drama fantasy

āœ… 99 Misunderstandings for absolutely no reason

āœ… Love Confessions happening at the worst possible moments

āœ… Passive-aggressive tea drinking scenes

āœ… Dramatic wrist grabs (because apparently words don’t work)

āœ… ā€œI heard half the conversation and now I’m madā€ plot devices

āœ… Rich people making poor decisions with royal-sized egos

āœ… Female lead tripping over air and falling into someone’s arms (mandatory scene)

āœ… A random fever to force an emotional bonding moment

āœ… Schemes so obvious even a goldfish could connect the dots

āœ… Second Female Lead blaming everyone but herself for her poor life choices

āœ… Petty jealousy as a full-time job

āœ… Parents ruining everything just for fun

āœ… THAT ONE CHARACTER who exists only to deliver bad news dramatically

I finished it, but only because of the actors and my pride that refused to let me be defeated by bad writing. It’s camp, it’s chaos, it’s Goong — a drama that could’ve been iconic but instead said, ā€œLet’s drown in stupidity for 24 episodes straight.ā€

The actors were good — they did what they could with that chaotic script — but they deserved better. Honestly, I stayed for the cast and the aesthetics, but the writing? Maximum drama with minimum sense .

I also think this dubbing voice doesn't fit Bail Lu. She was dubbed in TTEOTM too but there the voice fitted her…
i don't think its the same dubber.....

Is it just me, or is anyone else a little thrown off by the dubbing? No offense to the voice actor—she has a lovely voice—but I’m so used to Bai Lu’s voice, and since her voice is really unique, the change feels kind of jarring and honestly a bit of a turn-off.

What’s making it worse is that the dub voice reminds me of another actress—Jing Tian. At first, I thought it sounded like her from one of her dramas, but now I’m not so sure. My mind is just spiraling trying to figure out who exactly it reminds me of, and it’s making it hard to even focus on the show.

Bai Lu has such a nice voice—I don’t get why they didn’t let her dub herself. No shade to the voice actor; she’s just doing her job, but still...
