A fun watch if you don't take it too seriously
I wanted to watch this show for Mark to be honest. I love him so I wanted to check it out. I did really enjoy this show. It's a really fun watch. I think the humor is really good, the chemistry between the main four is excellent, and the story is decent.
I loved the relationship between the main four, especially during the last episode you can see much they've all grown to love each other. The different friendships between them all was really nice to see and very enjoyable. The two couples were enjoyable to watch as well and had fantastic chemistry with each other. The costuming was pretty and the sets were nice as well. The first wedding was absolutely stunning! The finale wedding was beautiful too. I loved seeing how they all talked about marriage and the future as well. I feel like in romances most times it's just "you date to get married" and I know they all do get married in the end, but it was nice to hear them talk about how it's okay to just be together forever without marriage as well.
I have to give a shoutout to Mark's acting, especially in the scenes finding out about the scam and those next scenes following. You could really feel the true heartbreak and betrayal from him. I love when an actor can say 100 hundred words just with their eyes and he is one of those actors. Absolutely love him!
I will say I think where my complaints are with this show is so quickly everyone got over everything. Something quite big would happen and we'd spend like no time on it before moving on.
Examples:
1. U's mom took so much money from him and we just kind of went past that pretty quickly. I know it wasn't really his money to begin with but still. You could say for this he's just used it though so I get why this one might not be a big deal for him.
2. The whole point of the show...the scammers. They were forgiven way too easily. The scenes we did get of the couples being broken up and North and Pai being upset about it were good, especially Pai's. Mark's acting really made those scenes. That being said, it felt like they'd give you this emotional scene and immediately follow it up with something goofy which almost took away from seriousness of what just happened (like the whole gecko thing). Personally, I just would've never gone back to U or Tim after doing what they did, especially Tim, but this is a romance, so I understand and knew they'd get back together which is fine, I just wish they would've been split longer and faced more consequences.
3. The grandpa straight up disowned North and Pai, left them on the street with nothing but the clothes on their backs, but we forgave him just because he gave the stuff back? Absolutely not. They just didn't seem to be upset with him at all. And why was the grandpa even mad at them in the first place? It's not their fault they were scammed, especially with the Pai and Tim situation. The grandpa has met Tim several times, I'm sure he did a background check on the man and everything, and he didn't catch it either so why just get mad and disown Pai because of that. I hated the grandfather after how he handled all that.
Some other things are that it just seemed like a lot of actual plots was put on the back burner. Like the whole reason Tim wanted to scam Pai in the first place was because he owed a lot of money to people (loan sharks I'm assuming), and because he wanted to bring his parents back...other than when we first found out Tim owed those people money, we never heard about it again until we saw a quick scene of him handing over a check in the finale. And when we met his parents, they said they didn't even want to come back and made him sell the house anyways.
Overall, I did enjoy the show and looked forward to the new episode every week. Was the show great? No, but it was fine. I think if you don't take the plot too seriously and just simply enjoy the couples and the jokes, you'll enjoy it a lot t
