I watched this ongoing. I still think about this drama. I had so much expectations from this one. But it wasn’t…
I thought their chemistry was even better in this than in The Long Ballad (Which I already loved) Especially as they both have more experience since then. Thought this drama was great.
Sorry this one didn't live up to your expectations, maybe the next one will fit your tastes better.
don't think Youku will ever make this drama available to non vips in their app. The drama however is being aired…
I've actually watched it all on the Youku app, But I remember trying to find the episodes on Youtube for a friend, and it was just the previews. It seems to be a new thing they're doing to encourage people to subscribe.
Nobody notices that she is wearing the ring ML always wore. He stayed in her care until his time came. We didn't…
The jewelry competition was only three days later so i dont think he died in just those three days. And the fact that when thinking about those that had died in that scene, she did not include him. So I tend to think he had not died yet, at that point. Especially given what the actor said in interviews.
Your critique sounds fair. Thanks for giving the other side. I agree with some of your thoughts, although overall,…
I thought the romance was one of this dramas strengths actually. Perhaps because of the chemistry, but it was an element that I thought it did better. As much as I love this drama, some of the business elements in the second half was weaker. I definitely felt their love, even when their characters were in their "break-up" phase. In fact, I enjoyed this because of the push-pull dynamic. I felt they interacted quite a bit.
if you look at her finger, YZJ’s ring is there. that was them telling us he didn’t make it
The jewellery competition was only three days later. I dont think he died in just three days. He hadnt gone fully blind yet. Especially when she was thinking about other characters that had died in that scene but not him. And given what LYN said in interviews and livestreams it seems he left. Which is why Kang Ju wasn't there. (Although they clearly left it open for audiences to decide whether he did actually leave or not. And the same with whether she ended up following him after leaving the guild. A number of scenes and dialogue give the impression that she went to be with him until the end. It's a bit open ended on when he actually dies but we can obviously assume he does sometime.
I definitely think he will die but I do think it's still an open ending in that it hasnt happened when it ends.…
The fact that we dont him leave or don't know where she goes after she leaves the guild is why its open. His intention was to leave because he didnt want to have her watch him die. That is his character. Selfish perhaps but it wasn't what he wanted in that moment.
But again we dont see him leave and dont know if she followed him. Even if she left and followed him to spend their remaining time together as many people speculate, he still would have died a long time before the "40 years later".
She didnt mention him but she doesnt need to. clearly he was her great love. And it ends with her travelling in a place that holds great significance for them. Where two lovers might see the purple stars (and seeing as that was the last image we saw after they hugged in the last episode, that is also fitting)
It may have some elements that are open ended but that doesn't mean I dont also think its a sad ending. But your feelings about the ending are also valid regardless too!
The ending is perfect, in my opinion, and very much in line with Yan ZiJing's character, as well as Liu Yu Ning's…
I definitely think he will die but I do think it's still an open ending in that it hasnt happened when it ends. He hadn't gone blind yet. We don't see it. We also dont see him leave. And Duan Wu leaves the guild and her business behind a few days after their conversation. Maybe to follow him. We dont really know.
ok i have waiting for 30 plus episodes so that i can ask this: Any actions please? I want to watch if they are…
There have been a couple of action sequences but this is not a Wuxia drama. It's historical, business and romance. So I'm not sure it has the kind of fighting sequences you're thinking of.
They are two people who went through similar traumas as children who find each other as adults. We do find out that both of their parents knew each other in the past. Other than that im not sure what else to say about their identities...
This drama started going downhill around episode 17, and now it’s so boring it’s just background noise! The…
I have to disagree... I find the new arc just as entertaining. I just wish the leads would make up soon. 😅 But the whole drama has been good with some great acting and production quality.
Just finished watching episodes 18-20, and asking myself if the ML and FL took a couple of stupid pills because…
He thinks hes as good as dead and responsible for the deaths of all his friends. He doesn't really want to risk her life for the revenge of a walking dead man.
And she justly had some doubt. She woke up from being drugged to see him seemingly killing his own men. And other convoy men slaughtering her friends and then saw him shoot an arrow at her. Even then she wanted to hear from him what the deal was. I think she would have listened to him. But he lied to her.
Not liking this trope is completely fair enough 😅 but I do think it still makes sense.

But thanks anyway!

But yes, bittersweet regardless.
He probably died some time after. He hadn't even progressed to being fully blind yet.
