Have you looked into what type of dramas she has been in, who she has been acting with, and how many more dramas line up for her? (EX. Leo Luo from Ashes of Love, Alen Yu from XYS, Wang YiBo from Untamed, Li Yi Feng from The Lost Tomb who work with Yang Yang and Yang Mi ). Everyone knows that Yukee is taken in by Tiffany while Dilraba is taken in by Yang Mi. So both of them are somewhat comparable and back to back.
I'm not sure I can say the same to HY. All his dramas so far are similar in style and with newcomer actresses. He only has 3 upcoming projects. And he is definitely not "amongst most popular male actors currently in china". Yes, he gets recognition in Go Go Squid and maybe Handsome Siblings. However, based on his acting skill, he is still very new to pair with A-rated actress. I think your statement above is very subjective. Seem like you only watch HY's drama and are his hard cord fans.
Furthermore, Dilraba and HY do not match. Dilraba is well known for her strong and independent personality. HY is too slim and young-looking for her. It like a big sister and younger brother to me. HY just finished two dramas with Yang Zi as sister-in-law. Now you want him to pair with her as a couple? I don't think viewers are ready for that yet and producers would not risk it. At the end of the day, the drama's team gets to pick who the main couple. If you like it then great, if not wait for another drama :D

There is a scene where the dad's explained that if he was a part of his son's life when the event happened, he would make his son own up to his action. If you connect this with the part at the beginning where his mom yelling at him for getting in trouble when the principal visits his house to ask for the hospital fee. You can see that he didn't explain the truth of what happened or went up to talk to MH afterward because he was scared. This leads us to the last part when they visited the preschool play and the kids were making fun of the little princess. Meng Hi said "You see, kids don't mean to hurt others. Instead of punishing them, scolding and hating them, it more important to teach them what kind of adults they should be. Just like you." That is the message of this drama.
