Glad I watched it! You just need to know some things first. . .

When I saw the slightly low ratings, I almost hesitated watching this drama. But I'm glad I eventually watched it.
(yeah, I know I'm a little late. But anyways. . .)
The synopsis may say its a rom com, but its not really. Yes, it definitely has those elements, especially in the first and last episodes. Its more of a historical political drama with rom com elements. As long as you know that getting into the drama, you're good.
Story:
I really enjoyed the story. I never got bored, and I never knew exactly what was going to happen. I never knew who was truly the good guys(aside from the leads). Like everyone in the palace had their own agenda. Though I do admit sometimes the side plots got slightly confusing, and maybe for some of the sideplots it wasn't completely resolved? Still, that didn't ruin anything for me, and I was satisfied with ending.

Characters/acting:
I loved our main protagonist the Crown Prince. I liked how he was responsible despite not always being happy with his job. and Suho definitely improved in acting. Great Job!
I also liked the female lead. I haven't seen her in many dramas, but the acting was great, and so was her character.
As for the second lead. . . I liked the character in the beginning, but as the series progressed, I started having mixed thoughts. Still, by the end, I think I was okay with the character.
The antagonists were pretty good! Well, I mean bad, but you know what I mean. Some characters weren't what I originally thought, and sometimes had me second guessing. I even ended up having sympathy for a few, though for the most part I think they got what they deserved.
So yeah, the acting was great, and the characters were all three dimensional.

Music:
I absolutely loved the OST. Seriously. I ended up hearing a few songs before even watching the drama, and thats what made me curious about the drama in the first place. I think that speaks for itself.

Rewatch:
While I did enjoy it, I'm not sure if I'd watch the whole thing again. It felt a little long for my taste, as for something to be rewatching. but maybe in the future I will.

Overall, I think what you need to know about this drama, is that it is a political historical drama first and foremost, and then rom com second. If that's what you want, go for it! You'll enjoy it.
But if you're looking for more of a light romance, and don't enjoy political dramas, you may not enjoy this one.
Thanks for reading!
