Title Lost to You
This is my favorite interpretation and I completely agree, I just wish we had some sort of indication in the actual…
I think they left it open bcs a lot of people are very much against superstitions so it would have been quite questionable if they literally showed zhan wang getting cured and all that happy ever after. So they perhaps went a safer route and left it up to viewers.

Title Lost to You Spoiler
Lots of comments on finale episode so I’ll offer my conclusion as well:

- Xu Yuan went there to wish, not to die. He was planning on coming back after praying. But he was willing to risk his life as long as Zhan Wang gets cured.
- Zhan Wang went there to get him back, not to die together. His father probably called emergency evacuation team for them. But point is, they promised to watch the meteor shower together and they did get to do it together.
- The fallen meteors were comet debris, and it’ll likely fall far off in the ocean so it wouldn’t hit that place directly as seen as they stood together. Tsunami will take time to reach their place so they will get to evacuate in time, so they’ll live.
- So Xu Yuan got to wish, Zhan Wang also comes to save him. Both of them saved each other. They are not dying, the whole story is pointless if they die there bcs the wish and comet are supposed to overturn Xuyuan’s fate from being a jinx to a lucky star.
- Xu Yuan had a sweet closure with his mom and so did Wang with his dad. Both the parents wished them to look ahead in the future and that meant Xu Yuan no longer think of himself as Jinx and Mr. Zhan no longer stood between them. The only obstacle left was Zhan Wang’s illness.
- The short clip at the end with the bottle cap was Zhan Wang making effort for Xuyuan to trust that he was his lucky star indeed. Xuyuan, although found it ridiculous, also accepted early on that Zhan Wang came to his life to make it better.
- So yes, both of them did prove they’re each other’s light (XY as ZW’s Lucky star and ZW as XY’s Hope) at the end saving each other.

Why I interpreted it this way? Because Xu Yuan’s name means “Wish” and Zhan Wang means “Look ahead in the future”, so it’s not logical for the wish to not work or for them to end without a future. Hence, this will lead to Zhan Wang’s surgery being a success and hopefully living a miracle life that is promising enough to go on for at least another few decades. It’s a positive open ending.

Totally has experience to tattoo without any hygiene, no needle even touching the skin, no redness, no wiping,…
bro you’re asking for lots of explanations from a barely 30 min 12 eps series with a budget that carried weight of being banned. Ofc they had to omit unnecessary explanations.

The comet is not random😭 Right from episode 1, it was mentioned in the radio played inside the cab zhan wang…
also, read the subs but at the same time most of it are literal translations and miss out a lot of underlying chinese meanings.

AGREE 100%The comments here aree going negative for no reason, coz the series is fast paced already, and If they…
a lot of people watched other show prior to this and bias towards it to the point of going around trying to bring down other shows like this which has potential of getting big. It gives me the ick🙂 Nonetheless, it’s the best series I have watched in a long while and will definitely keep watching. It’s lighthearted yet touches all the points I want a good story to touch. It’s giving me the perfect satisfaction I want from a small-budget drama. I love it so much and I hope others do it too!

Yeah exactly. I’m totally fine with fair criticism but I’m seeing a lot of ridicul-ing going on here which makes potential fans from watching the show. Imo pointing out how they shouldn’t be tattooing each other or they shouldn’t be stitching the wound at all
is kinda pointless. Zhan wang clearly has tattoos and has done that shit before, it would be stupid to add script lines like “oh i know how to tattoo, let’s do it”. For stitching wound, I think they should’ve added lines to indicate that Zhan wang didn’t want to go to the hospital to avoid the police and all the drama about his illness at that point. Plus they wanted to build up the two’s tension which is why they added the part.

People are expecting too many explanations. For me personally, I don’t like it when they show filler scenes. They could’ve done better with the transitions, yes but I’m very satisfied by how good everything else is. Like the good points far outweighs the bad parts of the show.

I have rewatched it like 5 times already and it’s the first time a show has captured me like this considering how picky I am about everything I consume.

I just hope people stop being negative and watch it as the entertainment that it is. And also hope for more fans to come because this couple definitely deserves everything good.

Daangg. The comments here are pretty negative?? I enjoyed the show a lot despite feeling the abrupt transitions. Like sure, it’s cliche and some parts are very unnecessary but regardless the main characters did really well and their scenes are beautiful.

- The translations are wrong a lot of times and doesn’t give the meaning they’re conveying so I get it why some parts sound so stupid. Like when Yuan asked if the condition was serious. He knew it was, he meant it more like if “the hospital there wouldn’t be able to operate on it” level.

- I’m suprised a lot of people here don’t know that you don’t need to go to a tattoo artist if you know how to do it yourself. Zhan wang has been fighting will people here and there, I’m sure he has experience. Give the guy some credit.

- The side couples are very unnecessary imo, they should have just gone with the two only but I understand if they thought it could get boring. But honestly, the side couples were not giving it so I skip them all the time.

- The comet thing
I don’t mind a little miracle happening to save the lead. It was already mentioned in Episode 1 that it is coming, so it is not random at all. It’s one of the main plot to overturn Xuyuan’s luck and become Zhan Wang’s lucky star. It doesn’t make sense from a realistic sense but as a believer who thinks universe is magical, I’ll take it. It’s a serious illness and no one wants a sad ending so I’ll happily enjoy a miracle plot if it’s the only way to save him for at least some time rather than dying in just a year or two. But yeah, they could’ve made the Buddhist temple part a little convincing.

Overall, not something that is logical if you watch with a fully grown frontal lobe but still a very good drama if you like main lead chemistry and good cinematography. I enjoy it and love rewatching all the main scenes. They both are really talented and I hope they work together more!
