Now hold on for a sec! I’m interested in this series but the synopsis is uhm messy...what exactly does it say?
I am not sure if the drama is going to be the same as the novel, but I’ll give a basic synopsis of the novel:
Yu Hao, a college student who has had it with his life, decides to end it. As he falls into a slumber, he finds himself standing on the Great Wall and there he meets someone named ‘General’. ‘General’ is a dream traveller whose job is to slay the ‘demons’ that appear in one’s dreams.
Finding some sort of connection between the two, together they travel through people’s dreams and attempt to solve the problems that may reflect onto their everyday life. As they slowly get to know one another, Yu Hao begins to wonder about another mystery, who is this mysterious ‘General’?
And so, begins the story of battling dragons, demonic eyes and monsters during the night whilst battling people, minds and trying to be a regular college student during the day. All with the hope of finding happiness once again in life.
What in the world is that synopsis talking about? Someone speak to me normally and explain =P

Many of the people on this show supported the forced labor thats happening with the Uighurs. If you have a heart,…
The situation in China is really horrible and I do hope people open their eyes to what's going on.
But you have to understand that the majority of Chinese celebrities didn't have a say in the statements that were released by their company. Even though a statement was released in support of Xinjiang cotton it does not necessarily mean that they themselves are in support of it. If a statement wasn't released fans would boycott them and their career would basically be over.
Take Wang Yibo for example. He is basically the government's poster boy with the amount of projects he has that is supported by the Chinese government. He had a contract with Nike and whilst many at the time had issued statement in support of the cotton, he had yet to release anything. People began to hate and boycott him, saying stuff like he can't really be called a proper Chinese person as he was uneducated. They said he should go back to school since he never completed his education in China because he had gone abroad to South Korea at 14. They acted as though attending school in South Korea didn't count. Eventually Yuehua posted a statement saying that they had broken the contract with Nike and showed his support of the cotton.
I am not saying that people shouldn't boycott them but do take this into account.
what? is this real??? cause if it's not, that's just cruel. is youku rich?
It's real but there are rumours that it's going to be cancelled. I won't be surprised if it does get cancelled, as although the pandemic isn't as major in East Asia anymore, there still we be a bit of a hassle. Also there are some... political issues. Youku isn't extremely rich compared to other platforms in China like Tencent and IQIYI but they are definitely not poor. Recent dramas that have been airing on the platform like Word of Honor has brought in a lot of money. Besides, if this does air they'll make a lot of money out of it. In terms of previous survival shows, they had two seasons of All for One (both male seasons) and the debut groups were... not that successful in the battle against the other debut groups from Produce Camp/ Chuang and Youth With You. However, this show will likely be more popular than the All for one survival show due to the aim for the international market.
It is an open ending. There are two other alternate endings that they filmed, one being a sad ending and the other…
The last recommendation as to where you could possibly watch it is on the IQIYI website; but I won't be surprised if it is for VIP only. Although Word of Honour is from a different platform , Zhang Zhehan has gained alot of popularity from it so IQIYI may want to utilise it.

I haven't finished The Blooms of Ruyi Pavillion yet. But I love that they did that as it is, after all, the 'LEGEND' of Yunxi and anything could have happened.
It's sad that you won't be able to see the other endings but you aren't missing out on too much. The endings were mostly made to satisfy people that weren't happy with the original ending.
I just found out about this today. If there are any native Taiwanese here, I'd like to ask, is code-switching…
No it isn't common. The only reason they do this in the drama is because both the character Shi Yi and his actor has a Japanese father. Since the actor's accent and fluency of Taiwanese mandarin is not the best (not that it is bad), they probably incorporated Japanese to make the emotions in a certain phrase clearer as well as easier for him to say. Also it adds humour.

The drama ends at episode 48 where there is the open ending. On YouTube (that's where I watched it), episode 49 and episode 50 are just over 10 minutes long and they are labelled as ending one and ending two.
does it have a happy ending. I cant seem to go more than episode 5. (not like cant cant but just not as invested…

Not really. There is an implied future romance between two supporting characters. And between the four, in the korean original, there were bl undertones between Yu Le Xuan and Lei Zi Xin, which could be viewed as a secondary couple; however, in this version it's more bromance/friends.
