Finally got to the episodes with the kids, and given the ML and FL are five years apart, then I think it could work -- the girl could be 7-8 and the boy could be 12-13. (Speaking from personal experience of knowing kids of those ages who look a lot older/younger.) But also laughing my head off that of course they had to throw in the "childhood connection" trope too, lol, because the earthquake wasn't fate enough. π€£
I'm kind of struggling with making progress on this one and have binged through two other dramas while trying to make it past the first 10 episodes here. In any other drama, the FL's behaviour and the things she said would be super annoying if she were the delusional 2FL who liked the ML. Frankly, the FL's BFF is acting the same way as her (I'm only on episode 10, so he hasn't pulled any jerk moves yet, which I hear happens later). He's also kind of acting like the stereotypical "ιΈιζ»θ£" (domineering CEO trope). So I think it's bothering me that it's supposed to be okay and less annoying if the behaviour comes from the main couple versus secondary characters. All this to say, the romance is not working for me, and if it weren't for the fact that the FL is immensely likable when she's not hounding the ML, I would find her character incredibly annoying and childish thus far. (Meanwhile, the ML and his entire crew are like a pile of oversized teddy bears - they are all very adorkable!)
lol, I feel like the vast majority of FLs in a lot of these modern dramas have ugly clothes - it's practically a trope! It's either ugly jeans or ugly, ill-fitting work blazers. The rivals or BFFs almost always dress way better! π
Someone please explain how anyone got a recording of their last moment in the car accident, and how Qing Tian only got a partial recording of that conversation. And how did the kids get split up if the sister was killed. Did she send the girl back already earlier? I feel like all this was not made clear.
I'm pleased to hear a positive, I've started the first episode and loving it, anything with action I'm down!!!…
The Untamed is fantastic. I haven't watched yet, but a friend highly recommends Ultimate Note and specifically loved the bromance in that one too (that one is more traditional bromance vs BL subtext like Untamed).
Only watched the first 4 eps, but so far it is more on the ''have fun, don't think too much'' side.
I would say the action is top-notch. A ton of brutal fight scenes, but really well-paced, and a couple of really stressful (in a good way, haha) chase scenes. But yes, don't think too hard, it's not that deep. But well-done action thriller.
I came to see the boxing and ended up loving the knife fights. Though I looked away at the most bloody parts,…
If you just want to watch WDH in all his glorious acting range, Joseon Attorney is definitely the one to watch, since it is both slap-stick comedy and melodrama, lol. Unfortunately, I found the combo as a bit too much though for 16 episodes, with few opportunities for something in the middle. This was a script problem, not acting, since the cast, especially WDH gave his all. After watching JA though, the more subtle and nuanced acting in Bloodhounds was actually a nice change of pace, imho.
I actually thought Mr Oh's granddaughter was very helpful! :) And the drinking scene was π
99% of the problem wouldβve been avoided if they used guns π
Well, that would also mean the bad guys would have guns too, so that wouldn't have really solved anything. But this was also about the boxing spirit/heart of a boxer, etc. Apparently private guns for hunting or target practice have to be stored and registered at local police stations in South Korea, so gun violence is very uncommon there.
Haha, I don't need to write my review because this was basically everything I wanted to say! Definitely the best, sorry, I mean absolute worst, of the three super duper toxic republican revenge dramas. π¬ I first saw Li jiulin way back in My Unicorn Girl and had a bit of 2ML syndrome in that one.
What's with the low rating? Oh, I get it. The success of this drama in China has bothered a lot of poor minded…
The drama just started and it's based on less than 100 ratings, so I think it's far, far too early to read anything into it. (Besides, 8.2 isn't a bad start, imho.)
Rewatching this drama once again and frankly I cant get over LanXi's father having so much distrust in him....it…
Yes, the worst father! So must distrust over his most capable son. Lanxi has already given up literally everything to prove his loyalty and the dad still basically disowns him. Meanwhile, the dad is willing to overlook every dispicable thing the third prince has done to give him a chance to become the heir. Just terrible leadership and parenting. (This is based on what I've seen so far -- I'm about 3/4s of the way.)
