The story was okay overall, and I genuinely enjoyed watching the friendships develop. The way the characters supported each other felt natural and was easily the best part of the drama.

Where it completely lost me was the female lead. This is my second show trying to like Zhao Jin Mai in a romance, but she still doesn’t work for me in these roles. Her acting comes across stiff and awkward, and the character is written to behave quirky and childlike despite being an adult. On top of that, she’s constantly secretive and lying, which becomes frustrating instead of meaningful. I understand wanting privacy, but the drama drags the lying out so much that it overshadows the romance.

To be fair, there were a few cute moments where the chemistry peeked through. But overall, the romantic dynamic felt unbalanced. Every time he tried to hug or kiss her, she pulled away, making the relationship feel one‑sided and awkward. He’s clearly the more affectionate one, and she never matched his warmth or energy. It made the romance feel forced instead of sweet.

Honestly, I struggle with a lot of C‑dramas for this exact reason—the romance scenes often feel weird, stiff, or unnatural, and this show was no exception.

Because of all this, the romance never clicked for me. The friendships carried the show, but the female lead’s characterization and the lack of natural chemistry held it back from being something better.
