So, what country do you live in? Yes women pay attention to brands…some much more than necessary. I have a friend…
It’s interesting that when someone disagrees with you, you take it personally and want to go on the attack. You watch the “popular” dramas. I believe if you expanded your viewing you will find shows and movies that are more suited to what you think should occur in them, perhaps it’s less obvious product placement or a dearth of excessive drinking.

Your arguments seem to point to a mandate for tv shows and movies to show healthy eating and drinking habits, which is your personal preference. Not so with everyone. I used the words “offensive” and “ridiculous”, because most people do not watch shows that they find offensive and/or ridiculous. Watching a particular show or movie is a matter of preference, at least in the United States. We can make our own choices here, at least for now.

There is no difference with the respect to the behaviors and items that people want to see in the shows that they do watch. People want to see chaboels with expensive items including cars. And they want to see people indulging in the same activities they do, such as social drinking. Please understand that I am not negating the health issues of excessive drinking. I don’t drink at all (for that I get stuck being the designated driver) but I’m not going to dictate whether someone else should or not eat or drink excessively.

So the question I would ask you, what have you done about the product placement, excessive drinking or eating in any show in any country? Have you written the production company , complained to the TV station or even the censors? When someone feels strongly about something, it wouldn’t it be great if they would work on changing it?

e ridículo, os artistas deveriam pensar em mudar a ideia, os costumas, aqui dão e um grande fodddd----se...…
Is everyone’s government just a bit insane? What I think is really sad, is that we each have to experience these moments in our lifetimes. But at least we have Kdramas to mentally get us away from the reality that could be much worse as it is in other countries.

Not surprisingly, just like real life, not all Kdramas feature excessive drinking or hot young chaebols. TV and movies reflect aspects of life that the producers feel will make money regardless of origin country. But there is plenty of other plots and themes available if the excessive drinking is offensive. People would think that the US is full of street racers that save the world or superheroes that do the same. It’s not. There literally is something for everyone so a person doesn’t have to watch what they find offensive or ridiculous.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/judge-set-rule-trumps-370-million-civil-fraud-case-2024-02-16/ for starters. And I guess the question should be has he been caught breaking the U.S. laws… and convicted. Caught yes, got out of it by signing an agreeement which he violated again. His current criminal cases (with 91 criminal indictments) are ongoing at this time.

Do most women pay attention to car brands? Besides, it’s not like Mercedes vehicles are bad for you! Coke on…
So, what country do you live in? Yes women pay attention to brands…some much more than necessary. I have a friend who can name every brand and model of car she sees and can tell you the approximate value and which are the best years to buy a used cars of the particular brand. Me, all I can tell you is that it’s grey, has four tires and a steering wheel. Go figure.
And the people I know who have money (not necessarily considered to be rich) have multiple cars.

I agree with you. Who cares about product placement? It’s much worse with something like soju or fried chicken.

There is a lot more going on regarding the release of this series than we know about. Netflix works with S. Korean production companies and actors and therefore has to respect their laws and procedures.

How other countries handle their drug problems, we can express our opinions but unless we live there we should not say that they are wrong. The way the public and the media in SK vilify suspected drug users is no different than how the public and media vilify illegal immigrants in the United States. LSK’s suicide was a tragedy that would likely not have occurred in the United States because of the way we treat the use of drugs. My heart goes out to his family. The fact is that the U.S. is a haven for illegal drug distribution and use and all of the problems that stem from it, so we should not be holding ourselves as an example regarding how drug problems should be handled.

All that being said, I am hopeful that Netflix can find a way to resolve things with their Korean partners and release this series. YAI is an incredible actor and he deserves to have his work seen. Hopefully, he wants to and will be able to get help for his addition.

Review Believer 2
I have to agree with you, the first film was extremely well done. I finished Believer and was completely blown away by the acting, the plot and the cliffhanger ending. When I found that Netflix also had the sequel, Believer 2, was thrilled. Until I saw the actors who replaced some of the original cast, as you mentioned, could not continue the intense vibe of the story. At least the ending tied up the story well.
