Always a delight!! Rewatched this sweet drama, and I maintain that it set the bar high! And I enjoyed every aspect of it, from the gaming, ups and downs of their relationship, to Yu Tu's hardships in his career. I felt it was so realistic and added a nice touch. Till next time I rewatch 🫶🏾🫶🏾
Spoilers please.1. What episode do they get together.2. Any breakups.3 Any love triangle.4. Is it a happy ending5.…
It's a slow burn, and they flirt a lot. the first kiss is in episode 17 No breakups, just trying slowly to navigate the relationship, and ML having to heal from his ex's death. No love triangle ML just getting over his dead fiancée before he gets in a relationship with fl Yes happy ending Yes!! I loved the flirting and kissing so much, the first kiss was a deep and fluffy kiss, all other kisses as well. This is different from typical drama, but so good! Deserves a high rating too. As I slowly conclude Flourished Peony and find myself midway through episode 26, I feel compelled to reflect on the character of Sheng Yi. Initially, I admired her decision to leave Wang Qing and pursue the Peony business with Mu Dan knowing the hardships they would face. This choice represented a significant shift from the traditional expectations placed on women, allowing them the freedom to prioritize their aspirations over marriage.
However, my perception of Sheng Yi began to change when she returned to Wang Qing. The turning point for me was when she disclosed Mu Dan’s secret, which felt like a serious betrayal of trust, even if her intentions were not malicious. This moment forced me to consider the complexities of her character; she embodies some of the challenges faced by women who may see their primary goal in life as finding a lifelong partner.
It was disheartening to witness her make choices that seemed to pull her further away from self-empowerment. Her visit with her family could have served as a wake-up call, helping her recognize the importance of prioritizing her happiness and valuing the friendships that provide her support. Instead, it seemed to deepen her struggle with self-worth, leading her back into an unhealthy relationship simply because of past kindness from Wang Qing.
I hoped Mu Dan would eventually forgive Sheng Yi but cut ties afterward due to the pain caused by Sheng Yi's revelation. I was surprised when that didn’t happen, yet I later realized that the secret would have likely come to light eventually, regardless of the circumstances.
One particularly poignant moment was when Sheng Yi expressed her frustration with being a woman. It was heartbreaking to see her struggle so deeply, illustrating that not everyone shares Mu Dan's vision of life. Unfortunately, some individuals can become so engulfed in their struggles that they fail to see the hope around them. For Sheng Yi, hope was represented by Mu Dan, who encouraged her to pursue happiness.
The impact of Sheng Yi’s eventual death did not resonate with me as strongly as it could have, primarily because I was aware beforehand that it would happen(lack of spoiler tag 🥲). I felt a sense of disappointment/loss for Sheng Yi, who I had hoped would break free from her struggles and rescue her brother, a goal she had spoken about with such passion. Ultimately, while Sheng Yi's journey highlights important issues surrounding personal growth and the challenges of leaving toxic relationships, it also illustrates the need for compassion and understanding in the face of adversity.
