imo her looks weren't the issue, but the makeup artist and hairstylist of season 1. they, like, REALLY must've hated her. it was truly the most clownish, least flattering look they could've given her. tho her annoying trilling "waaang-shaaaaaa~~~~" didn't help any lol. thankfully, come season 2, she looked like a human being instead of a caricature. poor girl.
I remember liking the manga before life got in the way and i simply forgot all about it, lol, but the trailer does look interesting so i'm tentatively looking forward to it!
I watched it without subs, but from what I gathered, beyond having the cast in modern clothes, there was no point…
They used to be on Dailymotion but I can't find them now :/ clips there get taken down in record time istg. did you try the links in the comments below?
I watched it without subs, but from what I gathered, beyond having the cast in modern clothes, there was no point to this, story-wise??? Except for Shi getting screwed over once more, that is. And Grandma with mauve hair. Also, us getting blinded by Xing Jiu's dimples on ep7~~~ Seriously though, I have so many questions. I need subs and a sequel to this sequel. And with MUCH more Ma Tian Yu in the latter, please!!
I'm only watching this for the male lead. I empathize with his character completely, since I see so much…
I've been sticking it out just for him since ep2, and going by ep5's preview it's only going to get worse. Still, he's adorable, and worse comes to worse I'll just skip her non-Hwan-Gi scenes completely. It's so rare to see such an on-spot depiction of social anxiety, it's such a shame the female lead is written so badly.
I'm only watching this for the male lead. I empathize with his character completely, since I see so much of myself in him. Which is why the female lead's "antics" make me so uncomfortable I struggle not to skip her scenes. To me, all he needs is a boost of self esteem, but her-- she is the one that really needs help. Her attitude is suffocating and downright scary at times and she has no concept of boundaries. Also, she only seems to see what she wants, making stupid assumptions and forcing situations she has no business messing with. She's a manic pixie nightmare girl.
But. Love is blind and deaf and dumb af. Poor Hwan Gi...
Whelp. They did it. and multiple times apparently. Did not expect that in a 2005 asian series. Giving up at ep9 and going straight to the end was a good move indeed. XD
