I love this show but it's a curious mix of over-the-top slapstick and poignant, heart-rending drama. I also cant get over villain Joo Sang Wook being the same actor as Mr Hot Guy in Birth of a Beauty. Oh, and the child actor who played young MinJi was absolutely adorable.

He was also a dad in the fun drama Buried Hearts and ML in Birth of a Beauty, which as far as I can tell is a huge send-up of a trope-filled Kdrama, not sure if it qualifies as makjang but it's hilarious

It's meant to make us wonder what his reaction will be. It adds to the drama and interest. Plus we get to admire his face card longer.
