A Delicious Misinterpret In A Time Slip
A food-themed, historical-fiction, romance, comedy, drama. Centered on a family who runs a restaurant. Once, they have an idea to make an advertisement video about their eatery with 'historical' gimmick. Turns out, they accidentally got slipped into past time, the dynasty era, and stop at the Yong'An city. Their long journey unveil a bunch of mystery behind. And leading them into the serious 'forbidden relationship' within the fate.
Starting the sequence by a bunch of witty jokes that fit my taste. Hilarious and silly. The food looks appetizing and tasty. The culinary themed at its peak. But, it doesn't last long enough. The focus on food and comedy slowly shattered as long as the show runs. The transition within a comedy and politic kingdom becomes dull, it's rough. The tension was unwell-structured.
So much wrong in this drama. The premise was unique and promising, especially the acestors plot, but sadly the execution was lame. The weight of political kingdom and the comedy ain't balance at all. After those long journey, they still lefting us behind with too much plot holes. It ain't a good wrapped, gosh.
I'm beyond loving the performance of Wang Yinglu and Li Yunrui, honestly. Their dynamic chemistry was so good. The love-hate was well developed. Especially Wang Yinglu's detail mimic, so good. She's flawless and barely overreact.
Speak about character development. I'm beyond stressfull and disappointed. Some character have zero development and become more annoying. Such as, Shen Shaoguang's older brother, and father. Their character need a bold development, honestly. They failed to give such a big impact of those characters.
If you familiar with 'Moon Lovers: Scarlett Heart Ryo' and love this kinda drama, this one might be fit for your taste. The ending was healed me enough from Moon Lovers, honestly. A bit similar like those cut-ending scene of Moon Lovers.
