It’s a common thing in Thailand as well for a couple to live with a parent/parents. In this case I guess it was either the couple’s choice that the two of them just wanted to live alone, or mutual decision between them and his mother that they wouldn’t live together.

This is a BL remake of ‘Love Destiny’ from 2018 which is not a BL show but a regular straight lakhon/lakorn drama and became very popular in Thailand at that time. It’s based on the novel which came out way before ‘Love upon a time’. Some say that ‘Love upon a time’ got inspired from the 2018 ‘Love Destiny’.

As a lakorn drama, the OG ‘Love Destiny’ was quite long with 15 episodes and each episode longer than 1.5 hours since a lot of things happened in there. I kind of wonder how they’ll wrap up this BL version within 10 episodes. This BL ‘Love Destiny’ is probably the first series as a BL remake from a straight show.

We still don't know about their next series yet. Their next project will be "Love of Siam", the musical, around the end of this year.

Right, this is not a new or unique plot or premise, since quite a lot of this has been done in western queer media content. Well, as for this case I guess they produced the series for their domestic viewers as much as for international viewers. The majority of viewers in Thailand is not Christians, and perhaps is not as very much exposed to such western queer media content as in the west. We don’t seem to see such a lot of this in Asian BL/GL series, and this is probably the first for Thai BL/GL shows. It’s just not a new groundbreaking plot for viewers from the west in more Christian-based countries. This one doesn't come from the west though, and within the scope of its domestic environment/context, this topic or subject matter is kind of something relatively new in the series’ country of origin.

I guess they produced the series for domestic viewers as much as for international viewers, and maybe they wanted to show that for those viewers in the series’ country of origin especially to make it easier for them. The majority of viewers in Thailand is not Christians, and while some of those have basic knowledge about Christianity and could just guess from what art or painting that referred to without difficulty, but perhaps not every one of them could do that easily. It’s possible that some others might not be very familiar with that. Unfortunately it just turned out to appear too obvious for viewers from more Christian-based countries.

So Tanrak has accepted his sexuality and let himself love Barth in the latest episode 4 which was sweet, anyway this episode could be kind of the calm before the storm. By taking time to let Tanrak or both of them fall deeper in love, I guess they were using this episode 4 as a build-up for the angst with more drama to come later. Now that the penultimate episode is coming, I don’t know if it will create as much tension and intensity as those previous episodes. I guess it will be somewhat intense though.

Wow, is this your first time to watch both Gemini and Fourth in any BL series...? Previous series they played together as a couple are ‘Moonlight Chicken’, ‘My School President’, and the Thai version of ‘My Love Mix-up’ respectively.

Their ‘My Love Mix-up’ was cute but just not as good as their previous two. If you wanna start with something cute, heartwarming, and wholesome, I’d recommend ‘My School President’, otherwise it’s ‘Moonlight Chicken’ if you want something heavier or more serious.

I think episode 2-3 are pretty good. Why don't you finish episode 2 and give episode 3 a chance? If you still don't like it then I guess this is not your cup of tea, and of course it's totally fine if you wanna drop it. I understand that everyone has his/her own cup of tea.

P'Aof is the director of the series. He is also the director of some other GMMTV's series like 'He's coming to me', 'Dark Blue Kiss', 'Bad Buddy', 'A Tale of Thousand Stars', 'Last Twilight', and 'Moonlight Chicken'.

Interesting how different you feel about these two series, 'TTF' and 'BB', and they both share the same director who is P'Aof.

If I'm not mistaken, the novel with the same name is based on the writing of the series’ original script. I think GMMTV is selling the Thai novel in its shop.

I also saw somebody posting a link to read translated novel in English in his/her comment, but you really have to scroll down a lot to find it. I don’t know whether it’s fan-made translation though.

I think 'Love You Teacher' has already ended.

This show is based on the novel with the same name. If I'm not mistaken, I heard that the novel and the writing for the series simultaneously had been developed together around the same time. I think GMMTV has released the novel for sale.
