You can totally not like him, of course, but make it make sense. Some good actors can act in bad scripts, happens everytime. I dont think its the case with LJG nor AC.

His father is hideous but it does not mean that he is not hideous as well. He is not a good character from the beggining. The audience can understand where his evilness come from but can not root for him ( or at least should not) because he is the continuation of his father.

Ok. Wait a moment. We can totally understand that all the characters are complex but we can also agree that Tagon is a conquer. And as a conquer he enslaved and subjugated tribes and people. His strategy was crucial to exterminate the Neanthals. He is not a good guy in the sense of the word.
I hope you dont feel this way and give it a try. There is a time jump and this should help to those so attached to SJK. Also, Its a character and a good actor should pull it off. Personally i think LJG will do great. I completely can see him being Eunseom/Saya in a more mature way.

SJK is not my favourite actor but he is undeniable good. People could have their preferences of course, but we cant deny the facts. There are some scenes in AC that he nailed it. Just for that scene where he shouts "his name" he deserved some award.
