They are rooting for the lead because despite what is clearly heinous actions the actor has shown his brilliance in acting by making a flawed character likeable. He has given the character the layers and complexity and vulnerability that makes for a powerful role and manages to impress the audience enough to make them question the basics of morality itself. It’s sad that you’ve given the drama a lower rating because your viewpoint on supporting the character is different. It’s a brilliant piece of work. And that the male lead actor has managed to sway audience in their own moral judgment is a very powerful thing. It’s rare to see such brilliance. I certainly hope xu kai will continue providing such near perfect performances.
