I like the pace of the show so far. Can sensed Zhao Lusi has truly immersed herself in this role as Xu Yan , who overworked herself to survive..poised but at the same time drained/burnt out.
It would be good if once in a while, the story also include ML's perspective or narration. William Chan acted convincingly as a controlling husband but hide behind his smile. His mother, Auntie Yu Lan is also a well cast and memorable acting, whether a snobbish mother in law or played as revenging mother but died tragically in Chen Du Ling's drama - The Glory.

Douban rating is only 4.8. vs Legend of the Female General at 5.5.
Maybe due to back to back Female General main theme drama with the same male lead, Ryan Cheng Lei that viewers got fatigue. Could have been higher if both dramas were screened atleast 2 months apart and also the stories are very different, shouldn't be stereotype.
My personal fave is Shadow Love β€οΈ π π
Looking forward to Ryan Cheng's next costume drama with Bai Lu.
I was so distracted in ML Ryan Cheng's another new drama, still ongoing, Shadow Love - with abundance of shirtless scenesπso I only managed to fin8sh LTFG today, though finale was weeks ago.
Although both dramas are mainly based life of female general but the stories are totally different.
I just want to say Yang Yang and Jin Chen are both so graceful in there fighting scenes maybe because of their…
Ya, both ML and FL are casted for their talent and past theatre & dance background before becoming an actor.
Nevermind viewers think lack of CP vibes. The acrobatic stunts are quite remarkable considering both in their 30s. π€Έπ»π€Έπ»ββοΈπ€Έπ»ββοΈ
Needless to say there will be Season 2 given the ending of the last episode did state conclusion of Season 1.
I am truly satisfied ππππππwith the drama though viewers can tell the last 5 episodes were heavily edited βοΈβοΈβοΈ out many scenes.
This drama truly touches modern day reality issues even on Ep.1
1. A white collar worker who worked in the one company until retirement is almost like fairy tale today. Hardly anyone I know today who works in 1 company his/her entire working adult life.
2. Adults moving out of parents home and live independently, not related to marriage plans.
3. Why only good looking men and women work are selected as gym instructors?
4. Parents dont want to retire before their children get married because parents need to save enough money for their kids wedding banquet, new home and related expenses. Or is it just Korean and Asian Culture??
5. In today's world of higher cost of living, without parents ( rich or poor) can young couples still afford to get married? Not surprised many choose to remain single.
6. Elderly community living facility will be way in future, whether for community or profit .
You got that right, with current global economic environment and cutting down of consumer spending.... i mean paying for Express viewing for new episodes.
The last Yang Yang starred drama i paid for Express was You Are My Glory. Dont think I want to pay now and I can wait.... hahaha
The rest... all of them are supporting casts... wow...
As a fan of Blood of Youth universe, sometimes too many characters can get too confusing and hard to understand or guess the motive of each character.

Atleast Gina Jin has more lines and some notable and memorable momemts in with ML.
Nazha's character has no weight in the story.
