I know, I watched Memories of Murder, they used the same elements of incompetence and violence, but that's not it. I don't think it has anything to do with the term "serial killer" but common sense. The clues were screaming in their faces but they seemed all dumb. I just hate the trope of "stupid policemen", you can see it in Mystery Queen as well. It drives me nuts because I like to watch competent and intelligent detectives, not... the dumb ones.
Anyway, I just think they could have handled it better. I loved the cast and scenography. And to be honest, I'd have preferred if the whole drama was set in the 80s, instead of time traveling to the present.
