On Bloody Romance Aug 18, 2018
I'm not going to say anything about the plot yet because I'm still only on episode 5, but I do want to say the cinematography in this show is simply stunning. Every scene feels like artwork! I just keep gazing at the screen hypnotized when I watch this. This is probably the most beautifully filmed drama I have ever seen. Even the accompanying music is stunning and reminds me of the soundtrack of Two steps from hell. or works of Tim Burton or Guillermo Del Toro in terms of investment . I really am speechless by how well made Bloody Romance is. Even for people who are no into Wuxia or ancient based dramas I would still recommend to watch this. On top of all this the actors are talented and convincing in their roles. I am so impressed with this show.

Also I think it's a testament to the greatness of both that we care about the character integrity so much, whether…
Lol , I actually checked the drama because the webtoon looked really interesting

To me a good drama doesn't have to follow the novel or webtoon to a fault, but to at least have the aim for it.

Dramas for example which terribly disappointed me in this regard and I couldn't bear to continue to watch them because I truly felt like the characters got ruined - were Han Yunxi and Feng Qiu Huang ( I have noooo idea what the directors were thinking)

But when it comes to this drama I feel like they do a great job with the overall feel despite the differences between the webtoon and drama.

@nicole @3GGG @TaoI'm kind of happy with both versions in different ways. I really love Im So-hyang's version…
I like your responses, just wanted to tell you. :) Actually, speaking of explosive scenes, the chapters in the webtoon about the whole issue of the guys forcing their beauty ideals on the girls and forcing them to waiter in skimpy outfits after belittling most of the chicks involved in the project - I remember when I was reading the webtoon, those chapters got me so seriously frustrated, and actually made me recall a lot of situations that I've experienced and seen around me in real life , and when it comes to these scenes I feel like the drama just didn't deliver.
Even with the supposed face slapping in the end the drama did not deliver the impact. I admit I was kind of disappointed. When it comes to both main leads..I gotta say they are very different from the webtoon but they both do have their own unique charm, I do like both variations, and, honestly, there's no way one can not like Do Kyung Suk.

I find Mi Rae of the webtoon stronger, and maybe that's why I like her more, but considering the traumatic past she had and the bullying just because of her appearance, it could very well be that the Drama portrayal is a more realistic version of her.

True, they made him a lot more in depth character. In the webtoon his reasons for liking Mirae although realistic were very shallow, but made the ML shine out by showing how much more insecure it made the FL become just by him mentioning that he likes her because of her face. (I loved Do Kyung Suk so much in that moment! So perceptive and attentive *-*)

I tried reading the webtoon and found that the personality portrayal in the drama is not very in sync with that…
I personally found myself preferring the webtoon and especially preferring both leads in the webtoon, personality wise...But the drama is awesome just the same, what I can say for sure is that I actually like the dad in the drama so much! I'm happy with the screentime he received

Extreme Spolier: Do not read if you don’t want to know more. According to chinese websites that I read. Jin…
Good to know it follows the novels plotline, I hope they won't make the scenes when Jin Mi is in the underworld too "jealousy ensuing" as I've seen it's a common style in dramas. It would be completely OOC for Jin Mi ..

I feel like they changed a lot but not necessarily in a bad way, just different. I find the webtoon more enjoyable…
True but the ML's drama actor is still very good looking, although with all the pastel craze in korea they could have pulled the white hair dye on him nicely 8D

I've read the WEBTOON and followed it from the beginning, for anyone else who read it then watched the drama :…
The webtoon that had no great issues with the dad, that they added it in the drama added depth, but I don't think they should have changed the way the interaction with Do Kyung Suk's mom went about, and also they lessened the violence inflicted upon the main character a looooot more. In the webtoon the bullying she experienced from that asshole in the beginning really got to me, his words and actions were by far more abusive. Also some sentences mentioned in the webtoon that are very deep that they for some reason changed..Like when Kang Mi Rae was in the lab and Sooh Ah did the "pretend bottle falling down" I recall that it was Kyung Suk asking her "Don't you care about yourself?" when she went to pick up the glass. That's a really important question, first it emphasizes how perceptive the ML was of her situation and her decisions, and second it really show the protagonists personality, and lack of care for her own being.

Agree it is the best one, but sadly both leads aren't popular enough i guess.
But but but Deng Lun

They better stick like glue to the novel's plotline because it was awesome all the way to the end, unlike the disaster that happened to Feng Qiu Huang

Title Sweet Dreams Spoiler
I know MoNan is getting a lot of hate but honestly....I love the character.. I only watched until episode 32 so my assumptions reach only till there.

Its like if this was a transmigration novel he would be the ideal lead...
He knows Qiqi loves Bohai and so thinks about her feelings first, loves her from a distance even though it's hurting him to see. He prefers her happiness over his.

He came as a secret agent to begin with and literally chose to sacrifice his wealthy and longstanding career for the sake of Qiqi, who doesn't even know how he feels about her.

He's there for her when she's sad and crying over Bohai time and time again.

His breaking point arrives when he sees Bohai mistreat Qiqi time and time again. That seems to be what really breaks him apart, and when he decides to pursue her is when he notices how Bohai mistreats Qiqi (Bohai is a tsundere after all, so he comes off as mean time and time again)

He blames Bohai regarding his family history, regarding the way Qiqi has been mistreated time and time again, but most of the time he decides to go against what he's "supposed" to do for her sake.

Honestly, I do love Bohai, and maybe I love Bohai especially because he's played by Deng Lun. But the show is giving me second male lead syndrome because MoNan really portrays that sort of selfless love towards Qiqi beautifully.
