That was sort of frustrating for me.I liked the camera work & the editing, and most of the acting, but for me,…
I kind of agree. Something about Sieew just feels fake to me. There's times it doesn't, but there's a lot of times that it feels like Earth is embodying this kind of problematic babying femininity that infantilizes women. I'm really, really hoping he'll develop a stronger sense of self and a more age-appropriate maturity after the time-skip, which is what the synopsis promises.

Wait, he's a high school senior? I thought he was in the same grade as the other boys: either US sophomore or junior year. This show really needs to be more explicit about their ages, especially if they're going to drag us into this whole "age-gap" thing. It absolutely does make a difference what Kung and Hom's ages are if we're supposed to get on board with it. 17/19 is one thing, but 15/20 is quite another...

I feel like they are in middle school. Mostly my deduction is based on the fact that he is wearing short pants.…
Hmm, I think high schoolers wear shorts, too, though, and university students wear pants. But it definitely does give off a middle-school vibe with the way they talk - it's just everyone looks way too old to be in middle school.

I think if they're going for a slice-of-life with lots of fleshed out side characters, we would have needed to see that start sooner. At this point it just feels like a distraction to me. Like this whole thing with Cake's friend and Seed's sister feels like it's come out of nowhere, and we know nothing about those two characters for the most part to care.

This is definitely a cute series, but I can understand how people would have problems with it.

1. Earth is real hit or miss here. There are times when he just comes across as really inauthentic, like he's playing a high-school boy as a 12 year old. There's a baby-ish way to his talking that doesn't feel right for a junior or senior in high school - he would surely be relentlessly picked on for acting like that. It also just doesn't feel natural. It feels like an act. At the end of episode 4, he's great, no doubt.

2. Definitely think these four episodes could have been condensed into at least 3. 1 episode establishing their relationship, second establishing that Cake is drifting away, third with Seeiw realizing how he feels. And I'm not sure this show needs any side couples.

3. The music can be really hit or miss, too. There's some beautiful bgm and then some mickey-mousing that feels gimmicky.

But overall, definitely a series I'm curious about! I would really, really like to get to the point where Cake leaves, though. I need Earth's character to grow up already.

Definitely wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. I was really excited from special, and then, while I enjoyed this episode, thought it was kind of messy, too.

First of all, the sound just isn't good. The music choices aren't good - everything is over-dramatized and sometimes doesn't match the scene at all. There's no atmosphere, and it's often confusing. Never mind the volume.

Second of all, the story's interesting, but the script does suffer. The first part plays out like a trailer - it's choppy and all over the place. The way the students talk about protecting the rules feels heavy-handed and artificial. We only ever learn about three rules: no cell phones, don't use the staff bathroom, and wear a school uniform. These feel pretty basic, so when Ayan challenges them, it's like, Dude - your uncle didn't die because students have to wear uniforms. Also, they're not, like, unique rules to devote your life to, Akk.

Third: already not buying the romance, which I was pretty surprised by. Sometimes the script is too artificial ("Punch me once I kiss you once"?) or they dramatize stuff that's not that exciting (Akk fixating on the pin in his jacket feels weird) or they try to go for dramatic looks at random moments (that ending shot got no excitement from me - I just thought "Is something wrong?").

And Fourth, I think just the directing is off. The trio of protestors act rather comically and stupidly, so it's hard to take anything they're doing seriously. The one kid who tries to bully the other into taking his phone is then played up as a comic character. Even Khaotung has the tendency to be sort of overwrought, and I don't think that's his fault.

So, I mean, we'll see. I mainly just think a calming bath would solve everyone's problem.

Title Our Days
Is there anyone here who would end the conversation on the roof with anything other than "Umm... Soh who?"I'm…
I don't see this show working at all if Soh is endgame based on this episode. This is the third time Soh has deliberately hurt Mon to distance them. I think I could understand Soh's purpose narratively if Saint is end-game - he helped Mon see what was around him the whole time. But Saint would not have a purpose if Soh is end-game - except to tell Mon that Soh said he liked him, which would not explain the amount of time the writers have spent building his character and giving him and Mon a painful, complex history. For all our sakes, I hope he ends up with Saint.

Title Our Days
I wanted to leave this comment for people like me who were interested in this show, but had no idea what it was about.

First of all, the synopsis is just not good. The show is about an anti-social, grumpy guy named Mon who goes to Uni and meets an older fellow student named So. His impression of So sours after So kisses him during a drinking binge, and he later discovers So will be one of his new housemates. Things improve as So attempts to redeem himself and encourages Mon to pursue his interests again. However, a mysterious boy from Mon's past, Saint - the star basketball player of his high school - emerges as So's love rival. It takes about six episodes to really get to the promise of the original synopsis, so don't expect soap-opera antics.

Tonally, this show is more like I Told Sunset About You than a GMMTV production. It's a bit darker, more realistic, and focuses on Mon's gradual awakening as a more self-aware individual - both in his faults, in his lack of intimacy, and his lack of awareness. It also focuses on a group of six friends and very much feels like it was written by people trying to write men accurately rather than in a fetishized way. The show's not really about basketball - Mon is no prodigy - but it is more about Mon's grappling with rediscovering the things he likes in a non-toxic way.

I'd definitely recommend it if you're okay with slower shows. I do think the directing isn't perfect and the dialogue is generally delivered too slowly (on everyone's part), but the acting is pretty good and there's some really great character-work. Our leads have complicated inner lives and are generally decent people struggling to express themselves. The music choices aren't always great, but there's a couple good tracks here as well.

The theme of episode 10 is "icky." The writers sat down together and said "We know the viewers will be confused about everything at this point, but what if they were confused AND uncomfortable?"

Petch and Son are cute together, especially when doing cute things together. But yikes. when the show wants them to get sexual, it just gets really uncomfortable with Pun's pressuring and Milk's saying "No, no" all the time. And the whole "You drove me to this" scene that ends with Pun dragging Milk into the bath...I'll pass on those potatoes.

Even the scene with Dr. Yang and his love interest felt icky. And for sure the scene with Tim and the girl was raising all the red flags. The actress did NOT look comfortable with that.

I'll keep watching, because sleep is nice, But yikes... Just yikes. Whoever wrote this should maybe stop writing things for a while. And maybe also read a book - any book - about healthy relationships.

Well, episode 9 was yet another great episode. I love how Milk forgot to continue ghosting Pun for no reason and was just like "Oh yeah, we're in love! Whoops!" And then the episode decides to give us a big twist WITHOUT setting up any mystery or knowledge ahead of time! Loved that. So now, we have no idea if the twist has any relevance or why Milk doesn't remember Pun, and it doesn't matter at all, because it's anyone's guess how they're going to think about each other next episode.

Also, love how Ake went up to his psychiatrist and was like "I have depression" and her face was just like "And how does that make you feel?" It was so super cool (and illegal, since he never gave her consent!) how she disclosed his personal details to his friends who seemingly have never heard of depression before (which totally makes sense because, like, what even are brains?).

I did think the meta commentary was funny, though. As soon as they said that I just wanted to call to them through the screen and say "Hey, so do YOU know what this show is about? Can you explain it to the rest of us pleaset?"

But 100% going to continue watching. It helps regulate my sleep cycle and Petch acts like an infatuated middle school girl around Son, which is super cute. If he had long hair, he'd definitely be tucking it under his ear every five seconds.

Well, tally ho, brave soliders! We're almost to the end! Can't wait to figure out how bad this show is!

May the BLord have mercy on us all...

I love this series. I've never been so confused by a show in my life, and it's kind of thrilling. Each episode is an exquisite experience in gaslighting. Dr. Yang and Milk hate each other? Not in this episode! People think Dr. Yang had something to do with their friends' death? Not anymore! Pun's going to back off of Milk? Not twenty minutes later, he's not! Pun just forced a kiss on Milk? Well, five minutes later, he's asking Milk for a job who says he'll consider it. Also, my god, the music. Constantly listening to it thinking "Wait, THAT'S what I'm supposed to feel? Why, though?"

One of these days I'm going to love myself enough to stop watching this. But that day is not today!

Right, also Mork's answer when asked about the chicken hearts was something to the effect of "To let you know I put my heart into it," which is cheesy in the way that feels impossible to mistake as platonic. There's naive and then there's just stupid.

That would be kind of funny if Mork ended up being a serial killer. But let's be real, he's been slaying us with those dimples the whole time.

I have not seen YYY, but interesting to hear! I'm not surprised that he could have chemistry with someone!

Yeah, you're spot on about BL romances frequently being externally motivated. I agree that I liked that they were both proactive, but I didn't like not understanding why they were being proactive. What's Mork's plan here? Is he trying to steal him away from the cheating boyfriend? Why push him closer? Why doesn't Tawan understand that Mork's obviously flirting with him, or does he? How should we interpret his gesture? Honestly, I think we could have had at least one couple cut out to get more set-up for the other two relationships.

I agree about it being slow-moving, and yet I've also found it repetitive and too quick. Seriously, NOW Mork realized he's in love with Tawan? I thought he'd figured it out by episode 3 (and seriously, how quickly did he get over his ex!). And yet, it doesn't really seem like they know each other that well at the same time. Too much is focused on forced romantic moments and not enough on the substance of the relationship. And yeah, I was not down for that fakeout. That felt very cheap and manipulative (and I didn't even want them to kiss in the first place).

I barely understand what Nadia thinks of the Barista. And I don't love that. I do not care if they get together at this point (other than seeing the cute Barista be happily in love).

I like Yoon, too, but I think for me, the problem is I just haven't bought his chemistry with ANY of the co-stars I've seen at this point (nor have I thought his costars in either Paint By Love and this were particularly good actors or at least had interesting characters).

Title My Ride Spoiler
Okay. I like this series for the most part, but episode 7 kind of got on my nerves.

First of all, Tawan...kind of cheated on Por in this episode? Which is really crazy given how Por's been cheating on him pretty much the whole time? But Tawan doesn't actually know for sure he cheated and still kissed someone else before he ended his relationship. So... Not cool. And it definitely looks like he went in for that kiss.

Second: WHAT a fish kiss! Seriously! Especially when they just stayed in that position! Yikes!

Third: I don't like the secondary couple at all. They feel SO shoehorned in that it really is distracting. They don't have great chemistry or a particularly interesting storyline either. They just are in love because they're supposed to be in love. I have nothing against Yoon, but he just hasn't been paired with a good match.

Fourth: I mean, I guess Nadia and the Barista could be cute? But I thought the whole number one Barista thing was nonsense and Nadia really does seem snobby about him. And they really don't seem to know each other or have much in common.

Fifth: I do like Tawan and Mork together, but they also don't make 100% sense. I feel like there's been several episodes in a row where I'm just like "Wait, Mork doesn't know he's in love with Tawan?" Like, he seems to re-learn that every episode. Also, why is Mork flirting with Tawan one moment (like, really flirting) and then pushing Tawan towards his cheating ex the next? Does Tawan not understand he's being flirted with?
