I saw a post from Joong which said he's gonna watch this episode with his eyes closed. My expectations are through…
Rewatch the trailer and compare it to the preview for episode 3 then you'll get an idea of which scenes we will get today š I am prepared for some spice š„µ
The laws of cringe are complicated and obscure. Why I could not watch Be Mine Superstar till the end but made it through this whole thing I cannot tell you. The traces of rational plot have left the chat a long time ago, as did my sympathy for Zouey and Nont and my hope for hot model guy to ever develop a personality that exceeds suddenly being attracted to and wanting to screw Zouey.
With all the open questions left Iād probably have to rewatch the series at least two to three times but I am hesitant to do so because I still wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares in which I attended the super awkward investigation party, watched someone lick ketchup from someone elseās toes or lived in a world where everyone speaks English in the same manner as First. Not that there is any chance of having all questions answered anyway⦠I mean, that last episode didnāt do anything at all to bring closure to the plot.
I donāt think I can give a rating yet, maybe I have to let everything sink in for a few days or years. I canāt deny though that despite the many flaws I was hooked on the series from the very beginning. Maybe it was the humour, maybe it was the absurdity, maybe it was the extremes the actors were willing to go to, who knows⦠I definitely enjoyed the plot in the beginning, even if it was hard to spot in between the pointless sex scenes. On an unrelated note, I was also here for the pointless sex scenes.
Even if the acting wasnāt the best Iāve ever experienced (*cough cough*) you have to give the actors credit for going all out for this. No matter how hard it was to watch some scenes, imagine how hard it must have been to film them. I am going to miss this rollercoaster of awkward entertainment every Thursdayā¦
it's 2024 and i can't believe i'm reading this, please delete it and shame for the ppl who liked it.
Chill, I donāt think anybody is trying to victim blame⦠Victim blaming would be saying āYes, he did it but it was her own fault (for whatever reason)ā. I havenāt really been following the case but it seems as if Gunsalma just tried to say that nothing was confirmed so far so it is theoretically possible that he did not actually do anything wrong and she made all that stuff up. Just for the record, I donāt believe thatās the case but I think there is an important difference between defending someone who evidentially did something bad and treating someone as innocent until proven guilty (cuz that is literally how the justice system works)
I am so sad because one of my favourite series has come to an end š¢
So, donāt get me wrong on this but I like the ending they chose for Way. Itās not that I think he deserved it or anything. I just happen to like happy endings with some tragedy involved⦠Also (at least for me) it came very unexpected and I donāt like it if everything is predictable. It is also a smooth way to bring closure to that storyline in the most believable way. How else could they make everyone forget/forgive what Way has done in the past so quickly? He seriously fucked up... he hypnotized Babe over years to make him feel insecure and alone so that he would always depend on him and he could keep him to himself. He emotionally sabotaged him and his relationships and caused Babe to develop massive trust issues. And finally, he tried to r*** him. That's some serious fucked up shit. I feel like him sacrificing himself was the only way to believably make the others feel that much sympathy for him again in the last episode. That being said, it could have been executed a lot better. There really was no need for Way to take those bullets for Babe, he seemed to be doing just fine hiding behind that sculpture. I would have preferred maybe a situation where Tony tries to shoot Charlie and Way sacrifices himself to save him. That would have been a selfless act of true love towards Babe as a redemption for his character. He could have shown that he respects Babeās love to Charlie and that he only wants him to be happy⦠idk. Just to make it clear, my evaluation is strictly from a fictional point of view. Obviously nobody has to sacrifice their life to properly apologize to someone in real life š
Another thing I very much appreciate is the directorās or screenwriterās or whoeverās decision to not include all of the possible side couples. Iāve seen a lot of comments of people who are disappointed for not getting to see (enough) PeteWay, KentaKim, WinnerDean and NorthSonic. I mean, I get it⦠we all love us some cute side couples but I am really glad the series handled it the way it did. It is very well balanced and for me it is so much more important to get a realistic and credible development of a relationship than to just get as many relationships as possible. The pace of the plot and the development of both couples was perfect imo and I was never bored during an episode. 13 episodes are just not enough for displaying the complex plot of this series plus six (!) couples to get a decent plotline. I also like how some couples are just implied⦠take PeteWay as an example. Way has been obsessively in love with Babe for the past ten years ā it would have been so weird for him to just start a relationship with Pete shortly after. I much preferred the idea of Pete just being there for him and helping him to decide to make everything right instead of judging him. I feel like the only way to create a believable relationship between them would have been a time skip (and I hate time skips⦠donāt even get me started on Last Twilight). Also, I wonder why everyone had these expectations in the first place? Iāve seen comments mentioning that these couples have been advertised⦠If so, I missed that. Iāve only seen the trailer before watching the series. And during the series itself some of the couples havenāt even been indicated in the slightest, so yeah, no disappointment as far as I am concerned. Idk but from what Iāve seen in the series neither WinnerDean nor KentaKim would have made a lot of sense to me and would have felt forced.
Anyway⦠congratulations to Pavel, his acting was really outstanding! I hope we can see him in more main roles after this, Iād be very happy to ⤠The whole team did a great job š
Mistreated him? Way seriously fucked up... he hypnotized Babe over years to make him feel insecure and alone so…
True, he was mistreated by Tony, like many others as well. But that is no excuse for a behaviour like that. You canāt justify all his wrongdoings with his difficult childhood. He had a circle of close friends who respected and trusted him and he betrayed all of them. Everyone has or should have a common sense of right and wrong. And I think constantly emotionally abusing your friend that you claim to love and trying to r*** him should make you think a little bit harder about whether that is still the right thing to do. He had ten years to question his actions. Apart from his connection to Tony he was living in quite a healthy environment and I didnāt really see anyone mistreating him. The others had every right to be mad at him, especially Babe.
Also, I definitely agree that characters need flaws to not be unrealistic and boring and even to be likeable in the first place. No character should be black or white only. His character just happens to be shady af (Charlieās as well imo, but thatās off-topic). Iām not even trying to criticize that. I actually like they wrote him the way they did and Nut portrayed him incredibly well. I just feel that people overlook his terrible actions or trivialise them because they feel sorry for him⦠or because heās portrayed by Nut and everyone loves Nut. Just because I point out that he has serious (!) flaws doesn't mean I don't find him likeable at all.
Disappointing that Way died for plot convenience. Way has been mistreated the entire show, gets killed off last…
Mistreated him? Way seriously fucked up... he hypnotized Babe over years to make him feel insecure and alone so that he would always depend on him for intimatness and he could keep him to himself. He abused his trust by emotionally sabotaging him and his relationships and caused Babe to develop massive trust issues. And finally, he tried to r*** him. That's some seriously fucked up shit.
Lol. I feel like bending those boys over my knees and spanking.I'm still not sure why playboyy employees are scared…
Honestly, First can be quite scary, escpecially in that environment š Should have left the others at home for maximum intimidation though... what was the point of all that anyway? First the dramatic entrance and then they try to be sneaky by paying the prostitutes to stay in the room and leaving them... like, you could have just low-key walked into the club without making a fuss, get the key from Prom and enter the room without picking a giant ass fight in front of it
There was a short period of time when I thought I understood what was going on but these times are over⦠Iām confused again. Or maybe it just doesnāt make any sense, who knows?
But thatās okay because itās hilarious. That scene when they marched into Playboyy club and did the gangster line-up and then Zouey starts coughing from the cigarette smoke and of course āZouey, are you drawing the prostitute again!?ā š
I'm still not sure how I am supposed to rate this series... I mean how could you possibly put a number on that?? There are so many flaws but I love every second of it (every second I manage to watch, that is... I had to skip through a fair amount because of cringe overload - see, that is my problem. Whatever, I'll leave the rating issue for another day)
Donāt get me wrong, I am VERY glad that Charlie and Babe are finally reunited but I gotta ask⦠CHARLIE, WHAT WAS THE PLAN???? Was it really necessary to let Babe suffer like this? It is very cruel to let someone who loves you think youāre dead and I feel like it was totally uncalled-for. Okay, Tony got very mad and Kenta received a few slaps but surely that was not the point of faking your own death? If he wanted Tony to think heās dead so he wonāt look for him anymore he didnāt really have to lie to all of his friends as well, did he? And itās not like he used the extra Tony-free time to do anything else than recover from his injuries, so⦠yeah, not cool, Bro. Poor Babe, everyone keeps emotionally damaging him. Iād be super pissed if I were him but since there is only one episode left I guess there is no time for that.
Unpopular opinion: I hate the ending... I loved the series up until the end of episode 11 but everything that happened after kind of ruined it for me.
Mhok doesnāt need a āsecond chanceā, he never screwed anything up. No matter how much everyone pretends that Mhok did a horrible mistake back then. Yes, he lied about not having gotten the job. He had his reasons to decline and that was his decision. Should have told Day the truth but things like that make us human. He didnāt want Day to feel like he was holding him back. And that justifies instantly breaking up with him without giving him a chance to explain or at least try to understand his side (he did go through some seriously traumatic events in his past, ya know?), blocking him for THREE YEARS and when he shows up he is so rude to him ā Iām not having it. Day never even apologized once.
Iām just really annoyed that they are making it look like Mhok is the one who has to apologize and was the one who you could not talk with when it really was the other way around⦠seriously Day, youāre glad that at least now you two can talk like adults? Mhok has always (or at the very least most of the time) acted like an adult ā unlike you.
It was really childish of Day to block Mhok in order to avoid a much needed conversation. The day before you told each other how much you love each other and now he doesnāt even get the chance to explain himself for THREE F*** YEARS? Like, who does that? That is such a dirty move that I would not be able to forgive. Mhok deserves better than this, he should have walked away. I hate that they made him be the one chasing after Day.
During the series Day often mistreated the people around him without facing any consequences (I mean, come on, everyone seriously mistreated Night for most of the series). I was actually hoping for Mhok and Day to not get back together in the end which never happened to me before. Not even talking about the rush to the airport last minute tropeā¦
For me it was an insanely disappointing ending to a previously unique and beautiful story. And donāt get me wrong ā the series as a whole is still totally worth watching and especially Jimmy and Sea but also everyone else did a great job portraying their characters (I actually think the only reason why I find Day at least somehow likeable is because he is portrayed by Sea who is extremely likeable). So⦠yeah. Pls donāt kill me now
It's stupid & silly & seriously has me downgrading the rating sadly. It's been a 10 but I know in my heart it…
Yeah, I agree. Especially after Mhok explained why he felt bad about leaving Day because of what happened with his sister. I expected Day to try to be a little more understanding towards him since, you know, they love each other and stuff? A little conversation before throwing a tantrum would have been nice. Mhok had reasons why he himself didn't want to leave and it is his decision after all. Why should he force himself to do something he doesn't feel is the right thing to do? It doesn't have anything to do with feeling pity for Day. If he wants to stay with Day that is his decision and it should be respected in the same way as if he had decided to take the job... anyway, that's at least how I see it.
Is it just me or is that a really stupid reason to break up... I wished they wouldn't always force the mandatory break-up to happen in episode 11 for more drama
With that nickname or yours? I accidentally missed it the first time but eehhhhh I saw it eventually. š
See, my sanity might have suffered a lot but I try to protect the last remains of it and that includes not watching a guy wearing nothing but an apron sucking off ketchup of someone elseās foot, ESPECIALLY if that someone else is wearing a terrible fake moustache that doesnāt fit his hair colour in the slightest š
