If this show has a major flaw is that his cruelty remains vague and unexplained.
You make a good point there. I do agree that it would have been nice to have more clarity about Hyunjae’s background with his parents, but I do also think that it wouldn’t have really added much to the story.
We already know that Hyunjae is in a miserable situation with his family, and going into detail about that (with the limited time there is in the show) would have taken away from the true focus of the story, which is the relationship between Hyunjae and Kiwoo.
Of course I’m not saying that it wouldn’t be good to know more, but I just think that they did pretty well in handling the spread of information throughout the limited episode time they had.
It would have been awesome if they’d been longer or had more episodes so that we could learn more about the characters all together. :)
I feel like this ending was definitely the best one for THIS series.
No, it wasn’t the ideal “happy” ending we usually yearn for when it comes to BL stories, but it was the perfect ending for this particular story because it stayed true to the hopeless, distressing truth of the real world.
Happy endings, real happy endings, are rare. Especially in a situation fraught with so many dangers and struggles.
I can believe that in the future Kiwoo and Hyunjae find each other again and have a happy relationship away from the father’s control, but that will remain only in my mind and I’m glad that the show ended the way it did.
These last episodes have only cemented my belief that if Lin Zai wasn’t immune he would have died/been turned a hundreds times over by now. My guy has ZERO survival instincts and literally like 2 brain cells. So help me if he somehow turns this around and blames it on A Lie I am gonna riot.
I am loosing my mind!I mean, how well is that made???!!!This is so dark and hopeless, so painful yet so beautiful???!!!And…
Fics tend to spawn after the conclusion of a series, but I get what you mean. If we don’t get a somewhat happy ending I’m gonna have to start writing again 🤣
Dude, Pio was CLEARLY grieving and emotionally unstable. That kiss reeked of “I’m in so much pain that I would take any form of comfort right now.”
Jaein was selfish for imposing her own feelings on him right then. And, honestly, it was selfish of Pio to go along with her despite the fact that he so obviously doesn’t have any romantic inclinations towards her.
I'm hoping there's some sort of twist in the show where it's revealed that Joon Seok broke up with her bc he likes men, not because of her being out of shape.

The harsh reality is that some people are just horrible and cruel for no reason other than that they want to exert their power over others.

I love my sexy villain types.
