I honestly liked the "ex returns" trope here. It came at such a perfect time. Because Xiaofan acting like a 1940s housewife with no other value than cooking and serving his husband was giving me a major ick. I know he has a very submissive personality but he needs to grow some balls.

Ziyang is such an exceptional character. Might be the only one who truly cares for Xiaofan and is steadily on his side.

I'm not saying them getting together is the fairytale, that's very much a likely outcome. It's the acceptance they received from the church and priests that is. Maybe that's what he wishes happened. I don't know how Thai Catholicism is, but catholics are not very flexible or accommodating of things that go against their theology.

Overall very great story, but it's more of a story for religious queers. It is very Christian-friendly though. You have a character that openly questions his faith but it's mostly about God's love.

Same a lot of things pissed me off, Barth saying God sent him to meet Tanrak, despite the very miserable events surrounding his transfer to that school and framing it as God's love.
But it's a love letter to religious queers, that they can love God and love themselves. I guess I could live with that.

Honestly it's 50-50, many moments felt icky to me but the story kept me going.

Kind of a fairytale ending compared to the initial tone of the series. Them being together is one thing but being accepted unconditionally by catholic priests seems very unrealistic.
But, overall, I love the message they're trying to send; without love there is no God.
Beautiful series in all.
