I enjoy saeguks too, actually one of my first dramas was a very long saeguk but I loved it , it was "Jewel of The Palace", do you know it?
Like you, I tend to like strong characters and they exist alot in saeguk dramas that's why I tend to follow them sometimes, I tend to like political conflicts sometimes. What bothers me about them is their length, I tend to get bored very easily so long dramas don't suitme at all.
You had disappointments with fusion Saeguks? Which ones?
I only saw few fusion saeguks and Gu family book is one of them. So far it's good and it's getting even more interesting now.

Aside from Itazura Na Kiss? Another drama titled Yusha Yoshihiko, I don't think it's up to everyone's taste, it has this crazy Japanese comedy that's all over the place but I like that type of comedy.
This is the second season, I watched th first season before and gave it an 8, this is probably going to be the same. However, I wouldn't recommend it to you.

I can only watch currently airing dramas for now so I will be waiting for Shark and Cruel City, they seem to be very interesting and the their plots suit my taste.
As for dramathon, I have to wait until the end of the month after I deliver my thesis to have enough time for dramathon but that doesn't deny the fact I want to start the second season of Game Of Thrones asap.

This movie was stupid and it had nothing special in it except some events at the end. However, I don't regret watching it since it was enjoyable.
6/10 or more like 6,5/10 is all what it gets from me though.
