Yes they are similar only that Iris focus more on suspens plus it has more action. I think if you liked City Hunter you would like Iris.
I liked City Hunter better because Iris ending wasn't that great.

It was great! Did you like City Hunter? Because Iris was an action drama with a lot of suspens and romance thrown in there, there were a lot of guns and relationships so if you like action-romance-suspens dramas you would like it.
