Especially as people are saying the two leads are pushing boundaries in the show and being almost BL, but they weren't even that romantic in the novel (I don't even remember them kissing or saying 'i love you's') so am wondering if the TV show is embellishing something or what.
I read the novel to this a while ago, and started watching the series.. but then the storyline going off on a tangent and being quite different from the novel. I have like 16 eps to go and am not sure I want to finish it.. so I just want to know if the ending is the same as the novel?
You're not alone. I also don't get it. I was hoping till the very last second that they would disregard the book,…
I feel you lol. I think the premise is because the Yai's are reincarnated and the 2023 Yai who gets reunited with Jom remembers the past, that this erases the two past Yai's pain and yearning. But for me I can't help but focus on the past Yais' pain and that they died alone. This is why I usually avoid reincarnation dramas 😅 I'll still watch season 2 though because I think the acting was great and I really liked the sister's storyline so would like to see if she's in season 2.

I don't mind that it's not a happy ending in my view, as it's a beautiful story regardless. But just I feel a bit mislead by people insisting it is haha.
Especially if the second season is going to be the same theme of Commander Yai falling in love with Jom, only for Jom to be ripped back into his timeline and leaving him to die alone too. And I know people have said specifically that 1920's Yai lived a long life heartbroken and alone. Idk, maybe it would have been happier for him to die young at that rate so at least he didn't have to wait so long for Jom. So that's two sad endings (Commander Yai and Khun Yai) and also Jom who never got to live full lives with them.
I'm very confused by people saying this has a happy ending. Am I missing something? I just finished watching it and from my understanding, after Jom disappeared 1928 Yai spent his whole life alone pining for Jom..How is that a happy ending? Even if he reincarnated and met Jom in 2023 (only to have Jom disappear again into the past which again I don't think is happy), that doesn't stop the fact that 1928 Yai was alone and missing Jom for the entire rest of his life. So am I missing something that makes this happy?
Anyone who's read the novel, are you please able to say whats different about it? I've been told the novel is very different so want to know if its worth reading. Thank you!
So is the prince supposed to be a real person that lived once? Is that how the other characters suddenly know…
I think its fictional, there was a Crown Prince Yi Heon but he became King, and his official name wasn't Prince Eun An, so I don't think its the same person especially since this one supposedly dies by poison whilst still Prince.

I took that as her having her 'epiphany' that the real killer wasn't dead/Jong Woo actually killed everyone, and that Moon Jo was 'alive' within Jong Woo... which was confirmed when she saw the bracelet. Of course everything is open to interpretation as the whole point of the last episode was to mess with the narrative and confuse the audience. But in both narratives (when MJ killed everyone and when it was revealed JW did) JW killed MJ, and the police investigating say that JW killed MJ and they would've needed his dead body to come to that conclusion.

Yes, Jong Woo killed him.. as the police mention finding his body. Jong Woo then hallucinated him after in the ambulance- probably due to developing trauma schizophrenia or some similar form of psychosis. It's implied (through his erratic typing) that he's going to keep hallucinating Moon Jo and Moon Jo will live on through him.
Guys.. Is there an uncensored version somewhere? Censorship on things like KNIFES drives me crazy.
I doubt it. They censor it during production. It is quite funny though when she was looking at the row of knives and you already knew which one she was going to pick because its the only one blurred.
Jong Woo killed them, but the police blamed Moon Jo (hence the initial sequence). We know that Moon Jo didn't kill them because the detective said their deaths were 'too amateur' compared with Moon Jo's previous kills. Jung Woo killed them because Moon Jo told him too in order to save him and his girlfriend, but ended up enjoying it. And thus Jong Woo became Moon Jo's 'greatest creation', and Moon Jo is together with him forever as that dark side of him who enjoyed killing people.
GMMTV just officially announced that ATOATS is included in rescheduling changes due to covid-19. They weren't too clear on if its being brought forward or back though. Although since they are already filming I assume its being brought forward to replace the cancelled shows. https://www.instagram.com/p/CFeMOIpHn87/
