He is not a villain here. Hua Rongjian and the FL stayed friends by the end of the novel. His character is playful, so he is very different from Li Lun. Also, Hua Rongjian does not die in the novel.

He's interesting and I need to see his side of the story. I don't believe he's evil just to be evil. When he was younger and BFF with Zhan Yan, he looked like a good guy.
After watching this drama, I felt empty and left with a heavy heart. It's an excellent drama and the acting is superb. I don’t regret watching this and am glad it’s available on Viki. I felt it when he said, “I'm tired of loneliness, and I'm tired of getting tired.” 😮💨

The first episode is raw in that it shows the very realistic lifestyle of some young people who have little direction and are struggling with many things. I like the best friend bonds between the leads, and I know they will have some character development. The cast does excellent acting, and the episode is overall very interesting. Love this drama so far.
Their fight scene in ep 14 is fantastic. I love this badass couple. Prince Jinghe has the best subordinates. They believed in him and would follow him to hell if necessary. No questions asked.
This hit hard.
