What happened to him? He is not listed as having done anything in a while. Did he go for his military service or something? I want to see him in more dramas!
I am glad that I saw the Korean drama first, even before the anime. That way, I wasn't watching it and waiting for certain things to happen. It still remains my favorite even compared to the anime. It does seem, though, that I am one of the very few who liked Baek Seung Jo and his personality. I honestly thought he was more likable than his anime character, Naoki. In the anime, he just seemed to irritate me.
OK, I have yet to see the versions other than the Korean one, and I wasn't overly impressed with it, either, BUT...…
I understand. :-) It was a great article I just was confused about you saying it was absent is all. I still say it was there, but based on your article and what others have said, it's just compared to the other versions, it was very much downplayed. I do plan to watch the other versions. They are on my list. I wasn't too impressed with TTBY and have heard the Japanese versions are way better.

OOK so what it sounds like is that compared to the other versions, the interaction and rivalry was toned down a lot. I think it would have been better though if they worded it that way instead of saying it was nonexistent. Again, I'm not a die hard fan of TTBY by any means, but I just think the article might have been a little bit misleading with that bit is all.
OK, I have yet to see the versions other than the Korean one, and I wasn't overly impressed with it, either, BUT... Like you said it was cute, but I really must disagree with you about what it lacks. I certainly got the friendship vibe throughout the series, as well as the dorm interaction and rivalry. I think you aren't giving credit where credit is due in those respects. Then again maybe it is because I haven't seen the other versions yet and thus I am not in the position to compare, but I still wouldn't list aspects as missing from the story when they clearly aren't.
You know, in regards to Seoing Jo, in all honesty, that really /was/ the character. In the anime that was his personality, and I actually think they nailed the character pretty well in Playful Kiss. I have no idea why so many people hate on that drama and that character about having no emotions. He /is/ supposed to be that cold. He's more than arrogant. I think he is supposed to be at least a tiny bit sociopathic, without a care or understanding of other's emotions.
Does he drink from the well at the end so that he forgets the pain in hell? And he's confident that be they'll…
I think he forgot. :p Plus it made the ending really cute, especially with how like he said earlier on, his heart recognized her, even if he didn't, remember.
I watched 15 eps but then gave up. I just couldn't take the melodrama and all the male crying. I swear, they break down in tears in almost every episode. It was just too tiring to watch even though the plot itself is interesting, the constant turmoil is just too depressing.
I am watching Hong Gil Dong right now and had to read this article because throughout the entire series, I have been so frustrated and feeling the same way! :( I desperately want Yi Nok to end up with Chang Hwi, but she never looks at him. It's so obvious she is going to end up with Gil Dong. :(
