You have to have a standard accent beside time to do the job, to be able to dubb your own voice in cdrama. Standard accent needed because all who learnt chinese language even international people, they learnt the standard accent, so is easier to hear what the actor / actress said when they speak standard accent.
And also, dubb is a later part of editing process, so sometimes the actor / actress already has other job line up for them, so they don't have time to do their own dubb.

He certainly couldn't do anything about Changge's dad, was either Changge's dad or himself who died.
