Its a very slow burn romance. Story keeps flowing though. Doesn't feel stagnant except for a couple of episodes in the middle. Still plenty of humour and comedic scenes. It's beautiful and a uniquely told mutual secret crush to love story.

Yeah the locations in this drama are visually captivating. Where the leads live and work is shot at Hangzhou city or Hang city. Where they lived their childhood and did their schooling is shot at Suzhou city or Su City. The old cultural town is called Shen'ao.
the douban score is pretty high for an idol drama, why's it so low here?
I have followed the statistics (bar and pie charts) and the comments section closely since it started airing. Every time the rating picked up, it came down within hours! Eg: It went down from 8.1 to 7.7 not in days but within hours And 7.9 to 7.8 TWICE in the last 2 days! It’s just gone back to 7.9 🤞
Possible reasons
●People who dropped within 4-5 episodes (some in 1-2 episodes) have given 1/2 to 1 star rating (yes I have been spying on the negative commentators and randomly as well) ●Though it is crystal clear from the reviews and comments that it is a slow burn character driven story and a light comfort watch, people have complained about the slow pace and lack of intense plots 😂 and have rated it down ●People have judged and rated based on what they expected and not based on what was delivered ●No traffic actors, viewer bias • Mango platform? ●MDL admins and veterans have probably preset the score for this drama

Nice to know. I have been a fan since watching Echo of her voice. I am too scared of heights and after learning that he too is/was and is still is taking the challenging stunts without using double and trying to overcome his fear inspired me. Then of course I caught up with his works one by one and gradually got drawn to him the actor, singer, dancer. He is indeed a total package and a rare specimen endowed with all good qualities ❤️

The lawyers banter was wholesome entertainment. I liked the hilarious school flashbacks too. Like in the extra scene when Ruan Yu loses her phone and when the Head Teacher gives a clue to identify it at the back of the phone it says "Study or Marry me" with his pic on it 🤣 I mean there are so many.

Its like shown. From a few scenes where she kinda helps him with academics and stuff and he does start studying seriously. Shown in the wedding scene when both moms talk about who is going where (Xu Huaishi's mom gets the upper hand, typical 😅) she gets into a top University and he gets a place in the one next door to hers (lower in ranking). I'm non chinese but I guess getting into relationships and stuff is not supported or encouraged by most schools and parents in China. Mostly coz there's serious exams in high school to get into top universities and competition fierce. It's okay up to the point I Like You. So a confession can't be shown at that age in the drama?? Correct me if I'm wrong.
