The people who don't want drama complained and stopped watching at volume 3.The people who do want drama complained…
I think this volume was supposed to be a nice, relaxing break after everything that happened in volume 3, and a chance to get to know the new members, but we ended up getting no drama at all, so none of the relationships seemed to progress which didn't really appease the people who didn't like vol 3 or the people who did... And I think a lot of viewers have been very vocal about that
In volume 5 they'll probably try and fix that (again) with a focus on JYD, because there's a lot of scope there- they haven't even made it clear who the couple will be, or if there really will be a throuple- whereas 2J are kind of bound by their relationship (they can only move forward; if they go backward, i.e. break up, ciboro might lose a major chunk of it's fanbase). With 2J, there might be some minor conflict but they should (hopefully) be fine :)
In terms of planning, with the partnership with IQIYI, the upcoming YouTube membership, hello live, and the possible in-person fanmeet, they would definitely have generated enough to go on another trip in the next volume, and since they're also preparing for the vampire manhwa audio script and Jaejun is going to debut with Juntae and Hyunyeop soon, volume 5 might come out a bit later and be winter themed?
They always said in their live streaming that cityboy_log is a long-term project. :)That ''Episodes: 23'' in the…
The episode number changes with each volume to include the new episode count- I messaged admin to ask if the count could be reset to unknown but apparently they can't do that once a value has been entered, so they have to update it like this :)
This isn't definitely a spoiler, it's just a theory, but in case anyone wants to watch the show completely blind, I'm putting this in with a spoiled tag:
Kciluvs have a theory that Vol 3 is actually a drama within a drama, and that at least some of the scenes in Vol 3 are part of "City boy trip", which may be the show the four original cast members auditioned for in Vol 2
They got the idea from the name of one of the folders- "cobweb"- which could be referring to the Korean movie of the same title about a film crew reshooting the ending of their movie. The move is split into colour scenes (behind the scenes of the actors) and black and white scenes (the film shooting)
It's unclear how CBL are making the distinction, if they are following a similar format as the movie cobweb, but kciluvs think most of ep 1 and 3 may be part of CBL, and most of ep 2 and 4 are part of the drama they're shooting (which sort of makes sense because in ep 1, Jaejun and Jihan were both addressing syrups directly, and in ep 3, the bbq footage was in a different folder called BBQ, and didn't come from the cityboy_trip folder... Also because they haven't specified why the 4/5 of them have come to the guest house yet, whereas in Vol 1&2, it was for a photoshoot- they only mentioned a briefing in the BTS of the second ep)
