TSTR and TSS are quite similar in genre and plot line. The really common ground is not just the fact that both female leads are distinguished Princess but the fact that the Male Leads are Scholars from poor backgrounds who rise in power through officialdom.

You will also find that the male lead’s are backed by the Princesses influence in one way or the other. Both princess (FLs) were once trapped in tragic marriage while their MLs are portrayed as virgins. So when it comes to initiating intimacy, there is a role reversal as the FLs have both the upper hand and experience.

I love the both for their uncommon portrayal of a male lead scholar from nothing who rises to the highest point of power. And the fact that their rise is propelled both by their wits and the influence of the female lead.

Both features mature romance surrounding the work place. While in The Early Spring they are in the same workplace, Fake It Till you make it features different workplace of the leads. Their vibes are similar. They both also have that explosive chemistry.

Both dramas have time travel themes from historical to modern day. MRN even references QI in one of its dialogues.

Both dramas follow the theme of not only women empowerment, but also women supporting women. At their very core, the both of them follow the travails of women who carry on business, while trying to balance independence with love.

Both male leads are smart and plotting. Both male leads don’t really know Martial Arts as well. Besides, the two have the general plot of using intelligence as against brute strength to manoeuvre out of tricky situations. Both FLs know martial art.
