Omg I also went down the rabbit hole regarding Leslie's life and my heart sank when I found out he self exited. Definitely had to do more research on Wong Kar-Wai and his type of cinematography to understand the movie more and thus all the MLs and the director & screenwriter made me appreciate the movie a lot more than I initially did.

At least he won best director for this film.

Just finished this and honestly, I'm glad I did not listen to the negative comments on here. Yes it was annoying at the start but eventually, when the plot thickens, the suspense just keeps you glued to the screen. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire drama!!

So sad there isn't a season 2 but I'll be watching the Japanese version to see if I can get some closure.

The ending felt so unfinished especially with the side character's plots but hey, I came here to pass the time and see MoonBin and I managed to get both of that so I'm happy (although the drama could've been better).

Totally agreed. I honestly preferred "The Mermaid Prince: The beginning" than this. Especially the FL there.

OMG Same!! I think that's what frustrated me more because Lan Yu sacrificed so much for him to be free and their happy moments after Han Dong's release didn't last long! Definitely gone too soon! :(

Personally, I actually enjoyed the special episode, even if it was focused on the relationship of the ex. I felt as though it was needed for us to know the background story of ZiTong an YuZhen. I found it quite interesting seeing how they were in the past. But yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I 100% agree with you. I enjoyed the special, their relationship really was not toxic and I felt as though they would've been so good together if he didn't leave but we can't blame Zi tong for being ambitious.

Not sure if this is even a thing but I am honestly having "side couple syndrome."!! Definitely a comforting and fluffy drama indeed.
