I was all onboard the main ship until Ryu was all, "how dare you talk to other men, you belong to me now" and then Atom was fine until he got the Ryu-Zen memo and then acted butt hurt and creepy when Zen continued to.... just like Ryu instead.
That final scene was gross. Sooo gross.
How did these kids witness a full-on mass murder of gangsters and then snuggle on a rooftop later like nothing happened?
I don't know why, I kind of enjoyed the show overall though. Just so long as I don't think about the whole thing too much.
No I loved the ending, the ending was perfect! When the last time you saw a drama where the female lead bones the male lead literally to death, and then takes over his whole empire and rules alone? But not before she finds a doppelganger of her 'ex' to bone next. I love it.
Oh Ji Hyuk's English accent is very good ,, this is the first time I find famous korean actor who can speak english…
I think the issue is not so much 'speaking' English but having to act in English. Acting in another language is really hard because you have to learn the lines in another language and then deliver them in character as well. Often there's a struggle between those two things (accurate line delivery and staying in character) since the cognitive work needed to deliver a line in another language is much higher than in your own and once you add in acting it's even higher.
"This show has a good song in it so it doesn't matter that it's pretentious, makes no sense, and is badly written"?…
The OST is intrusive and the use of songs adds to the production's air of pretentiousness. The song itself is not as important as how it's used IMHO. And that's all this is. My opinion.
Im sad that this is the top comment, people will think this as the worst drama ever. Like I can get that it isn't…
"This show has a good song in it so it doesn't matter that it's pretentious, makes no sense, and is badly written"? Is that what you wanted my review to say? Anyone who watched Bride of Habaek will tell you that a good song used badly in a poorly written drama is exactly that. Just download the OST.
Better to watch separately bcoz though they have same characters in both the seasons but the plot is different,…
No you really need to watch season 1 for season 2 to make sense. Season 2 builds on season 1 in ways that almost make it a continuation rather than a sequel.
If you're interested, I have a longer, more complete piece on my blog (this was my jotted thoughts first draft).
