she can pull of pretty much EVERY role you could imagine, so many different characters she has portrayed so far... superb acting! (I love her in Healer, btw:D)
is this drama very scary (because it's tagged as horror) or is it more mystery/thriller-like? I can't handle horror…
Alright that's great :D I mean I can also handle the horror (ghosts) in Master's Sun so far (but that is my limit already tbh >.<), so I think I will be fine here as well. Thanks for telling me!:)
8/10 wonderful lead character, and a terrific performance from Kim Sun-Ah. At the same, i find it a bit sad that…
You need to remember that this takes place in korea. They have ridiculous standards when it comes to being overweight, more so if you're an actress.. THAT size is definitely considered overweight (as an actress). Of course in reality her weight is just normal. But even in western countries nowadays the weight standards increase more and more.... even for the actress her weight at that time was probably fat, considering she had to gain 15 pounds for this role. I don't think it promotes ridiculous standards, rather the opposite.... you'll be loved for who you are - and who you are (from the inside) is much more important^^' At the same time I like drama that promote a healthy lifestyle.
I made the mistake of watching the 14 min trailer (i actually only got 6 min in) but holy cow if you haven't watched…
I thought the same after having seen the trailer. I mean even the opening is kind of spoiler-ish, but the trailer is just WAY too much :S Don't get me wrong, it's my favorite drama, but spoilers take away the fun of being surprised T-T
waaah... looking at the reviews and comment section I guess I'm the only one who thinks this drama sucks!! I got…
I believe what makes this drama so beautiful is the way they approach the subject(s). There's a certain kind of lightness and hopefulness...or should I say pure love (:)) among all of the problems and struggles the characters are facing. Other drama that deal with the same or similar subject(s) usually approach mental ilnesses with a certain harshness and distance, which I didn't find here. This is what makes it so beautiful for me:)
Yikes. This drama should've been called two-timers. Every damn character two-times their partner or with someone…
I guess I agree with your complaint about the ending but about the two-timing: It was one of the central themes imo. The way they treated two-timing (especially the "side couple") was very fresh and not sure how to word it... admirable I guess. The side couple has been together for ...8 (or was it 9?) years at the beginning of the series - and it shows. The girl acted extremely mature in the way that she didn't end up screaming or threatening him to leave him, instead they tried to settle it by themselves ("let's go on a vacation and take a break from everything just to focus on our relationship"). This to me shows that they truly love and care for each other, it's not the usual portrayal of an immature relationship that just feels very unrealistic.I'm not saying that I support two-twiming though, one of the worst things one could do since I support monogamous relationships all the way.
Also the acting is top notch from all the characters. One of the only drama series I know that has SO MANY great supporting characters. Not only by numbers, but by the variety and distinctiveness of the characters.
The OST is amazing as well. I love the setting (coffee..), too :)
It's an extremely memorable series, considering I first watched it many years ago and still remember a lot of scenes...
this is not tagged as romance, the novel as well as the anime and manga adaption include romance... so, does this adaption as well or is there none?
I can only encourage everyone to watch the anime, by the way. It's a great adaption that cuts down on a lot of "boring" parts from the novel.
I just don't know why it's on top, but considering the Plot??.. OK fine, it's good.... But the execution is NOT…
Among other things, I believe it's kind of the whole point of this drama to display a relationship between a younger male and an older woman. I for one do not mind, rather the opposite. I'm pretty sure they looked for actors that fit into the role perfectly and they have found them imo. If they wanted a very manly, older looking male they'd have surely not given LJS the role... (he's super handsome nevertheless, and I prefer guys who look like him :P)
I haven't seen the whole drana, but so far what makes it quite awesome is how fast the plot is moving, the pacing is for once not snail-like and the characters are quite capable mentally..
now, I have some issues as well because a few times this drama is indeed quite unrealistic and even inacurate, but... it's just so entertaining that I won't let a few shortcomings hinder my enjoyment ;)
today so always thursdays and always 2 episodes at once (this week it is episode 9 & 10).... however, the subteams need some time to do the subtitles, I assume we'll get them tomorrow or on saturday... argh, I'm so impatient:D
Im itching to watch this drama because this is definitely my cup of coffee (tea lol). But, but.. but I won't watch…
I marathoned the 8 episodes that are available till now - and let me tell you, it really is such a nice experience... the (less than) 45 minutes pass by in the blink of an eye and you'll always find yourself craving for more.. at least that's how it went for me, I just couldn't stop watching! haha. So yeah, definitely a great drama to marathon! ^_^
Really though, this drama makes me want to buy an Audi.
haha, as far as I know Audi is one of the sponsors for this drama, that is why there is so much "advertising" :) I love Audi for supporting this drama though, it's just SO good!
Not sure why it has horror tag, but so far no horror unless they mean bodies cut in pieces and stuff.
I would argue that the 'horror' in this drama is actually quite realistic, that's kind of what makes it so scary (to some people). I for one am somewhat unscared by that, I get more scared of unrealistic stuff D:... (think of some ghosts/scenes in The Master's Sun.. although the music also added A LOT to the scare factor)
