If you all want some spoilers, these character descriptions on the MBC website reveal a lot about your theories of who the traitor is and why the female lead changed her name (and the bad incident between them as kids). Why did the main guy have to die again? So that the main girl will be depressed and have a baby with her ex-husband? It's like he gave up everything, including his family's happiness, just to have it amount to nothing since the Grid gets destroyed eventually anyway. Seems like the writer got lost halfway through the plot and decided making the viewer guess the answers and throw in a ridiculous final scene was better than answering them herself.
Final thoughts —- I think Eugene really does like Detective Jae Hwan (like the reporter hinted at in ep 11).. She was already packing her office and getting ready to leave in ep 12, but decided to spend Christmas in Korea even though she dislikes it there.. Since the doctor was already leaving, can only conclude she stayed to spend some more time with our detective. She was also probably the one who told him when the doctor was leaving so he could say goodbye. Really love the trio’s friendship! It’s unfortunate Jae Wan wasn’t in a place emotionally and mentally for a relationship at the end, Fortunately,, he has a half sister in New York now so maybe that’s the writers way of implying Eugene and Jae Hwan may see each other again if he ever visits the states
Wow, OCN really hates it’s main characters. What a terrible ending for Detective Cha. OCN must’ve deleted some scenes at the end cause the doctor and Eugene were absolutely useless in the end and played no role whatsoever in capturing the real Chimera. And how can the two leads not even have a single scene together in the final episode?
After the 10th episode I don't think also that Jae Hwan's mom is the old Chimera because she was lacking the motive…
On the flashbacks, there is a moment on the bridge where she is holding her belly, implying that she was pregnant before she tried to commit suicide. And later, detective cha finds a photo dated November of that year of her being pregnant. Most likely Seo Hyun Tae is the father of this baby, whoever it is. I wonder if that’s why she didn’t go after him after finding out he was behind it all.
Wow, ep 10 really moved the plot along. I’ll be so disappointed at this point if the reporter isn’t the new Chimera
-can’t be a coincidence that the first revenge death in ep 1 is also a reporter -she purposely approached Jae Hoon first in the hospital probably cause she felt bad he got caught in the crosshairs -that weird scene after Captain Han’s death where she tried to comfort Jae Hoon at the police station “not as a reporter” -is the one who keeps spurring Jae Hoon on with “tips” to reveal the truth about the past -strong hint in ep 10 that she’s adopted -she’s listed as a main character even though she started with very few scenes
i assume Captain Han faked the mother and daughter’s death records after the fire, and created them both new identities and gave the child up for adoption. Somehow the child ended up with the lawyer.
Crossing my fingers that Jae Hoon and the doctor are brothers so that Eugene isn’t related to our detective. They have such great chemistry!
