Thank you very much for your answer! I really appreciated the fact that you took the time to give a proper answer to my thoughts.
I agree on the fact that Saeroyi wouldn't be where he is without Yi Seo, and in fact I said that -> "Indeed, Yi Seo is the main reason he is where he is now". But Yi Seo love was pretty much one sided until the last two episodes of the drama and after many years have passed. She wouldn't be at his side without her love for him, that's true, but it's not like he was invested in her in that sense. Truth to be spoken, he kind of admitted that he simply needed her because she is good at what she does. Obviously, after what she has done for him and after many years, he reciprocated those feeling, but not until episode 14.
I agree that they tried to do a mentally closure at the end of the drama for him, but, at least for me (so my opinion) it was done poorly. I would like to clarify that I don't have that much of a negative opinion of this drama, I actually enjoyed it as a whole! It's just that I feel that the second part of it it's not on the same quality level as the first part. Futhermore, I also know that this drama is an adaptation from its webtoon, but since it's, as I have said, an adaptation, they directors changed a few things and I think they should have added those little sidepiece to increase the sense of interrelations between the members of the DanBam. Unfortunately, the main work was not entirely translated in english, so I'm unable to go read it.
On a conclusive note, I understand your point of view about the love story nad its importance, but I think it was not executed that well (probably also in the webtoon, but I have no means to know that.

What does it mean the main story wouldn't exist without the love story? His father was killed and he wanted revenge because of that... not for any other reason. They used his father's recipe, got successful with it, fired him when they didn't need him anymore, tried to cover the murder and got him in prison. He didn't want the revenge because they did something to Soo Ah or Yi Seo . It's true that Seoroyi liked Soo Ah, but he didn't talk to her for many years while he was working to gain money to open the pub, he prioritized his objective over love. So, no, love was not that important for him. And it's not true that the secondary characters were developed that well. We didn't get the chance to really see how Saeroyi got to know Hyun Yi (They worked together in a fabric, yes... which one? He knew she was a transgender, how? how did they get close? ) and what did he actually like about the food she prepared. According to Yi Seo she was not a good cook, so why was the food so good? Futhermore, Geun Soo was treated really poorly, he became vengeful and sold Hyun Yi only because he wanted to be reciprocated by Yi Seo and accepted by his father. And he never actually got a full chance to redeem himself to Saeroyi. Indeed, Yi Seo is the main reason he is where he is now, and at the beginning she didn't help him because she liked him, she was interested in him because he was different from other people. So the authors could have choose this kind of reasoning instead of the petty catfights.
I think that this drama was really well produced in terms of photography (beautiful colours, beautiful sceneries), lots of money were invested in it, the acting is indeed amazing and the story was really solid until the 8th or 9th episode, but then they pretty much rushed everything.
Personally, I don't understand what the heck happened in the second half of the drama. Everything was going pretty smoothly, everyone had their substories and then... puff. The drama started to focus on not-so-important details, dragged the love story (that I feel it shouldn't have been in this drama at all), throwing random fists, almost forgot to develop the brackground or the surroundings of its second characters... I don't know. Still, I was very impressed by Kim Da Mi's and Park Seo Joo's acting, really really good.
They could be doing long distance while he's enlisted. That's certainly what I'm going with.
The enlistment actually lasts for two years in Korea, the same amount of time that Yoon Seo Jung is going to spend abroad. Anyway, they will reunite when both of them finish their things.
My thoughts exactly. 4 people even marked it as completed. But maybe they just accidentically confused this with…
It is actually quite common to find dramas-to-begin with already a full mark, there are a few that even after just one episode they review the drama with a 0.5 without an actual explanation or just to ruin its score because it is popular or well welcomed by everyone. In theory, it is a big problem because it goes against the site rules to review a drama without it being finished, even if you have just watch an episode and it is on air. You have to wait until it is finished and only thereupon you can give the mark you want with an appropriate review.
8.8 and it has not even started, what are you rating exactly? The plot? Without even watching an episode? Wow, I would like too to have the power to see the future and see which drama sucks and which it's a gem
Uhm, excuse me, but... what the heck is that summary...?
I don't really know, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it's a mistake or something that is going to happen in the second half of the drama (since we are on episode 10 now)
I think the sweetest thing about this is that after secretary Kim said she was leaving, he stopped putting a tie…
I noticed that too! The fact that he stopped putting his tie after the news she gave him. He doesn't want anyone to touch him but he lets only Mi So to be THAT close to him. He always does a sort of comparison to married couples. Unconsciously he already sees her as his wife, he perceives that she is the only one who can stay by his side.
Am I the only one who thinks that when she adjusts his tie and he stays quiet and looks at her in that way it's really a sexy, but also intimate, moment?
