First of all, the drama name Qing Qing San Si (卿卿三思) loosely translates as Think Twice. However, Qing Qing (卿卿) is actually a term of endearment between married couples, San (三) is three, and Si (思) is to think/consider. So, can I say it's translated into "Thinking About You Three Times"? LOL [updated: the English title is now The Deliberations of Love]
The native title actually makes more sense than the English title, as the couple underwent 3 marriage lives, although the first and the second marriage are shown super short (only in Ep 1). The rest of the drama is about their third life.
So, in the first life, the FL Liu Yue Qing and the ML Pei Xun were married and they loved each other. However, Pei Xun, the Sixth Prince, staged a rebellion to be the Crown Prince. As a punishment, the Emperor ordered them to drink poisoned wine to commit suicide. Yue Qing was disappointed with her husband's political ambition, so before dying, she swore not to meet him again in the next life.
In the second life, Yue Qing woke up (reborn) and found out it was a few years earlier when she and Pei Xun had just gotten married. Knowing that he would rebel she wanted to get out of the marriage. She pretended that she was 2-3 months pregnant, which angered him since he was traveling away at that time, so he accused her of having an affair. News quickly came that his subordinate General Wang staged a rebellion. When Pei Xun was caught, Yue Qing knew the punishment already, she drank the poisoned wine and died. (Ep 1)
In the third life, Yue Qing woke up again (second reborn) and was very happy finding out she was only engaged to Pei Xun. She quickly begged her father to break off the engagement. This third life is different than the two previous lives as Pei Xun is now the Crown Prince. But she doesn't want to have anything to do with palace politics, so Yue Qing tries to avoid Pei Xun. Therefore, when she met Yu Ming He, a handsome scholar who only wanted to open a bookstore, at the Lantern Festival, she asked her father to engage her with the scholar. (Ep 2)
In the third life, Pei Xun also keeps having nightmares and sees a woman in his dreams. When he finds out that the woman is Yue Qing, his fiancee who broke off their engagement, he is very intrigued so he uses any means to get to know her. (Ep 3)
From Ep 4 to 16 (the last episode updated today) Pei Xun pursues Yue Qing to win her heart again. Since it's a palace drama, of course, there is also a political/power struggle scheme. But it's not heavy/complicated and so far, I think 75% is romance (of the main couple, no side couple), 20% is politics, and 5% is slice-of-life scenes.
The story is actually quite interesting and light-hearted. It's not draggy and the plot is to the point. For the ones who are curious about what it's about, I summarized the story I watched from Ep 1 to Ep 3 with minimal spoiler, only based on the synopsis from Douban. The synopsis itself was confusing until I watched the drama. Unfortunately, the Eng sub in YT is machine-translated and unsynched. Spoiler below.
Omg, lol, I can't believe myself, I don't recognize the Male Lead at all, having just finished I Am Nobody where he was in it!!! His character there is Zhu Ge Qing's brother??? Meanwhile, I recognized the FL from LBFAD and SFL from Love at Second Sight. 😎😎😎
Dong Hua: "What is this? It made my tongue prickle." Chu Yang: "Calm down. You'll fall in love with it." Dong Hua: "I think this love is bitter." Chu Yang: "Of course love is bitter. Just look at my sister." 😂😂😂
my guess is Chivas jealous rage maybe what he's doing at the club and who invited him queen has his car he knows…
He doesn't need an invitation to go to the club, right? Probably he has a tracker for his car so he knew that Queen went to the club. But did Queen leave with the same car, too?
Her name is Yang En You. She became famous when she played the main character in the movie, Lighting up the stars.…
Omg... I watched that movie, too, and I rated it 10! Yang En You was really good, acting with Zhu Yi Long. For that movie, she was nominated for Best Actress in the Golden Rooster Awards at age 8! What is Paradise Tour Group? It's not on the MDL database yet.
The child actress who played Liu Huan is so good, especially acting Duan Muying part. I think I saw her in another show before. Once her name is added I would know.
