It's purposely made to parody Cinderella's tale in a modern-day setting, so a lot of ott, theatrical, unrealistic stuff. It's entertaining nonetheless, I haven't seen a contemporary drama like this so far, it's different.

Someone just told me, it was a stepfather, not stepmother. She supported my guess since the lady seems so close to FL so I thought she might be her mother not stepmother.
