The ending, as you suspected, it's like SF6. ML and FL met again, not remembering each other because they drank the Forgetfulness Soup. They walked pass each other, stopped, turned around, and smiled. However, their love has been for 800 years, tho when the drama started they didn't remember each other. Plus, they have mutual friends, deities who are matchmakers. So their friends will make this couple meet again.
I kept thinking where I saw the ML before until I looked up his bio... So he was in Oh! My Emperor 1 and 2 with Zhao Lu Si and Xiao Zhan... He was super cute there cos he was still 16 way back then. I think he was the youngest member of the X-Nine boy band, but the tallest of them.

There's nothing new with short-length series there are always plot holes or illogical stuff. I never asked what makes sense unlike regular length dramas I always questioned their logic. At least for me, it's a happy ending. They always met for 800 years, and now that they're both mortals and keep reincarnating, they will keep meeting again. Cos now their mutual friends are gods who are also matchmakers, so they will make these two meet.
