Is this really a remake?! As far as I know it's just another manga adaptation. I don't know why everybody think…
I already mentioned in the Introduction section that GMMTV made an adaptation from the manga, not a remake from other countries' manga adaptations, although Director O watched some drama adaptations to get inspirations.
I don't read the manga, so you tell me why you think it becomes a popular adaptation?
Synopsis according to Douban: During the Republic of China, Feng Xiao (played by Cheng Yufeng), the adopted son of a wealthy businessman, and Lin Wanxiu (played by Liu Meiqi), the adopted daughter of a warlord, were married, but they were their own masters in troubled times. They loved each other deeply but had to face each other and conceal their identities as assassins. As the conflict between the wealthy businessman and the warlord deepened, the two were forced to face a life-or-death situation in which a husband and wife fell in love and killed each other. However, their love for each other finally resolved the misunderstanding, allowing the two to get back together and join forces to smash a conspiracy to sell national treasures. In a shocking conspiracy, they became a pair of assassins who made evil people fearful.
When Cai Yi shows up, I kept thinking the actress looks familiar... then I found out I watched her in Please Be My Family and Fairyland Lovers, lol. She looks different in costume drama!
you can watch it on dramanice.la but there is no english subtitle
It tells the story of online editor He Luyan and hotel entrepreneur Qi Lin who time-traveled into a complaint written by He Luyan at the same time. One became an undercover guest room manager and the other became a hotel president. After experiencing battles of wits and betrayal, they walked hand in hand and finally ended up together. A fantasy love story that goes both ways in real life.
