I'm on episode 12, and this drama is fantastic. While I didn't expect the horror aspect, it is still quite good. Nune is a superb actress and she plays Ubon and Sarochinee so well. This is definitely a new role for Pong because for once he is playing a character that is much more docile than his usual roles.
I'm sorry? "They develop a brother sister relationship?" Did the writer develop this storyline purely to torture Bella and James fans? What was the casting director thinking? What a mess!
If you enjoy Thai Lakorns (I love them), then please do watch this drama. While it might not be the best if you enjoy proper slap/kiss lakorns then this will fit the bill (except of course it's in Chinese). The drama was an absolute riot, from the crazy obssessed male lead to the innocent door mat of a heroine, to the crazy diabolical evil rival lady, let's not forget the dissaproving and equally diabolical mother (of the male lead). These are the ingredients for thai lakorn people! You either love it or you don't, no one can make you understand why it's so good. It's not an acquired taste, the love for this type of drama is ingrained in my blood. Your pile of poop is my bounty!
Whew! I have so much to say regarding this lakorn! Let me say that I love lakorns, I love them for all their cliches, the slap/kiss, the angst, the deep and long stares. While I don't condone rape in RL, I've come to understand accept them in lakorn *don't kill me*
The only slap/kiss in this drama was the last episode, I wouldn't even call this a lakorn, it was more of a melodrama. Lakorns at least have some comedy even if there is heavy subject matter and tragedy. This lakorn was extremely slow paced, the writers must have relaized how slowly it was moving way to late in the writing process so they tried to wrap things are quickly. Big mistake.
I'm gonna move back and forth in this story so bear with me. A lot of people had second lead syndrome while watching this drama, I didn't. Here's why. At no point did the female lead mislead the 2nd lead regarding her feelings for him, she clearly friendzoned him from the very beginning. I get him thinking he could change her mind by being good to her, but I'm sorry the relationship was clearly set from the start. Nikolai was a fool and a martyr, I didn't feel sorry for him. The actor who played his character was really good (had to get that out there).
I started this drama after finishing Tawipob (a lakorn with the same main leads), which was fantastic, so I wanted to see these two actors in another lakorn together. The female lead is a great actress and I felt she carried the drama well, the male lead was just ok, he is absolutely gorgeous, but this guy has the same facial expression for every emotion. There was zero chemistry between the leads, I'll blame that on the script though. It was really badly written, way too much time was wasted on giving the viewer a tour of Austria with only 14 episodes (I really didn't care for the Austria part, I came here for Thai culture and lakorn.) I'm probably wrong but I swear Nick and Wayoon had more screen time than Ramil and Wayoon (flabbergasted).
I guess the side characters did what they were supposed to do, the evil aunt on Ramil's side was extra evil, which is exactly what I expected. All the woman than normally want to steal the male lead from the female lead were as annoying as ever. Forgive me I'me trying to give a solid reason for why I binged this lakorn but didn't quite enjoy it...
The lack of skinship might be the issue but I've watched many awesome lakorn without skin ship, but I did feel like the actors were very awkward around each, the one fake kiss in drama was subpar... very frustrating. I honestly didn't feel like the male lead was that much of a jerk... I mean all pra'ek are supposed to be jerks, this is what I look for in lakorn, he didn't stand out or anything. If you're looking for a real jerk watch Nahkin in Sanaeha Sunya Kaen (one of my fave lakorn), now he had some serious issues.
Out of 10 I'd give this a 3 and that's because how they addressed the reality of abortion in a objective way. They had two woman, one who decided to keep her baby and the other didn't I felt like they wrote both sides quite well.

Exactly! I know that kind of behavior isn't okay in RL, I enjoy it purely as entertainment. I sometimes feel like articles like this are kind of shaming the people who do enjoy them lol. BTW I live for Thai dramas! They're pretty conservative in the skinship department but there are plenty wrist grabs and force kisses lol
