I like Woo Young Woo/Park Eun Bi and Lee Jung Hu/Kang Tae Oh but I really really love Jung Myung Seok/ Kang Ki Young!! His character is so charming in this! I seriously love his role!!! All the actors are doing amazing!!!!

I like your POV and it makes sense as to why you think the way you do. I am team Kuea since the start and I’ve called Lian an asshole multiple times for a few things he did in the start. But I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he gainskuea’s trust. I like tYesheir moments and lian is willing to change for Kuea and theres a good character development for him. I am loving the series so far because it’s different from the other Bl dramas where it’s always high school stuff.
Sometimes you don’t know if you console a person or give them space when they’re crying.
From Lian’s perspective, all he knows is Kuea is lying to him since the star regarding everything, his major, his hobbies, even his personality and dressing sense. He has a whole new life hidden and Lian even though knew about everything, he chose to let it all go for Kuea. But then comes a point where Kuea wants to break the relationship because Lian doesn’t love “kuea” who in actual sense is not the real kuea. That’s why he called him Annabelle. Even after all this, him making Kuea move with him for the main reason of getting to know each other better and trying to keep the engagement, to become a better person so Kuea accepts him, I see nothing toxic or gross there. Everyone makes mistakes and Lian have too, Kuea has made mistakes too, but moving forward how they own up to their mistakes and develop their relationship is all that matters.

I am going to continue watching the series and decide at the end if Lian is worthy of Kuea or not.

At this point I think it's more about how a person perceives scenario and in our case we perceive it differently. You should understand that we are seeing as a viewer's point of view which knows exactly how and what is happening in the other persons life but the characters itself don't know how things are happening as they’re keeping “secrets” and learning to open up and they have to learn from experience. I can also go back n forth with you regarding this all day and we would still not find a middle ground.
I noticed you reviewed Tharntype amazingly and to put my point here, tharn unbuttons type’s shirt who is sleeping and kisses him all over even when he knows Type is homophobic and if you liked that series I don’t understand how you see this as toxic but that as amazing .

Consent is an important part of a relationship and Lian seemed to have follow that even though there are instances where he was perceived as a questionable character.

For the second, I can agree with you at the middle. Kuea was crying so much and was asking Lian to love him, he was drunk too, and have you never kissed or confessed to a person you ’re in a relationship or liked when drunk? It was wrong on some level. I agree but also, they’ve been engaged and he kept the consent a priority. Also,Benefit of the doubt but Lian didn’t tell Kuea about the kiss because he might not want kuea to freak out wven more about getting caught. They’re both hiding secrets and that’s why the character development is happening. Toxicity comes when there are multiple traits all coming together like jealousy, dishonesty, unwillingness to change because they’re always right, ego etc.

For the cctv camera, it was Lian’s house and he’s entitled to put cctv as he pleases in his house. Now the important part is him using this for his benefit. and the moment he sees that kuea is removing his tshirt, he removed those.
There was also a scene where Foi asks if Lian wants a recording from 3 days ago when he erases the camera footage of when he brings Kuea home but he denies and says it’s his private space.
We need to see it from all perspectives. We need to give the person a chance in the relationship to improve. Nobody is perfect and willingness to change for the person you love is a positive trait that we should all appreciate.

As I said in my comment below, you need to know the whole story before you call something toxic.
The people in the relationship ( Lian) is willing to change for the better and do things for kuea, he’s trying to be a better person and that shows that he’s getting worthy.
Also, no where in my comment I mentioned Zee or Nunew so don’t try to bring that up unnecessarily. I have only expressed my views on the characters they are playing in the series.
You rolling your eyes and disregarding anything in my comment shows your level of understanding and maturity so let’s not go there anymore.

I see where you’re coming from but we also need to see for a fact that this is both their first relationship. They’ve been tied to each other ever since they were kids.
Lian didn’t force Kuea. Kuea has been staying out nights consecutively, lying to his parents and not picking up Lian’s call. Now I totally understand his side too because he’s young and wants to have a space which he never experienced before but if you notice, Kuea is in love with Lian and wants to break the engagement because of how Lian treats him.
Lian knows all his secrets and him teasing Kuea is to bring out the real sassy personality that he has hidden all these years in their relationship. Lian can’t just go to Kuea and he like “ i know all your secrets” , that could potentially ruin the relationship even more. We have to give yhe characters benefit of the doubt as they’re both learning as it progresses. The character development has been good so far. We still have 50% of the series left.
Also, to come to your point, I agree Kuea id confused but he never flinched. He even dared to pull back lian multiple gimes and was like,”. Ypu always tease me hut never dare to do it” . Kuea’s character s of a strong man who’s hiding his real self from his love behind is goody two shoes. Lian teasing is not on toxic level. I don’t see how his decisions are toxic, they can be unreasonable if you want to use a better word there but toxic behavior is a completely different aspect of a relationship and I don’t see it. They’re working to make the relationship work and Lian’s is trying to change and be completely honest about his life as we see in the next episode’s preview.
His behavior is not gross. You really don’t know much about arranged marriages or asian culture if you’re grossed out by how kuea’s family reacted here.

At this point, we should all wait and see how the story and the characters progresses to be able to comment on how it was.
Everyone sees things differently and to understand something, we need to know it completely.

I forgot to mention that yes you’re right about the BL drama romanticizing some negative traits. I noticed it.

I seriously don’t understand why people are here complaining in the comments about the story or the relationship being toxic.
I mean, Nu-kuea is a young man who’s very naughty, have a secret 2nd life and Hia Lian is a mature man who respects boundaries and just wants to protect Kuea.
How can someone call their relationship toxic when Lian is so respectful towards Kuea. He literally looks away every time Kuea reveals a little bit skin, respects his private life, removes all his cctv cameras after seeing kuea remove his tshirt, literally pauses 4 times in a kiss to check is kuea is comfortable, is trying to change so he can be worthy of being a better half for Kuea. He has been doing that since he was young. Trying to achieve success so he could be worthy.
He has never treated him anything less than a precious person.
All those people calling out and complaining about toxicity should just first learn about it.
The character development for both the leads is amazing. And the pace is perfect! If he would’ve changed overnight in a couple of episodes, people would be coming here complaining about it being unrealistic as to how can a character change so suddenly.
I really love the series so far because it’s focusing on how difficult it is to maintain a relationship and how you have to be honest and open to your partner. How communication is the key and they’re both learning it. It’s not some high school bl drama. It’s more mature.

So I hope these people who are here calling it toxic or just not liking the storyline should just think more about it and understand why things are happening the way they are and why are the characters behaving like that.
