Just finished. Some parts are dark but most of the drama is rom com with ML being a bit clueless and childish in love. Ok when you're bored but nothing special. At least ML is not mean to FL and he doesn't humiliate her, that's a change in this kind of short drama.

I guess it's always better if you're fluent in the language and knowing the culture but the humour worked on me, even if I know just a bit of Chinese.

I'm at episode 27 and I recommend it! It's hilarious (I love the humour) and once the story is settled, it gets better and better. Of course FL is not ugly but maybe she doesn't have Chinese beauty criteria but it doesn't ruin the drama at all. It's also that she is really strong and not the cutesy woman. It doesn't seem cheap drama. The effects of the filter are really well done. Lots of fun characters and good friends.
At first there are a lot of quiproquo so don't take everything for granted. You'll see the point of view of ML and FL. They are really cute together. Honestly, this drama is a really good surprise and I'm still not bored at episode 27. You should try it.
Also it is very well written. They say quite a lot of good dialogues at some points. Beauty and age criteria's are definitely critized here.

I've watched 4 episodes yesterday. So far, I find it a bit confusing. The subtitles are so fast, I had to rewatch the scenes twice. I'm gonna give it another try. Maybe it will be easier to understand once I know all the characters.
