He is ashamed of himself. He thinks that she will be disappointed when she'll learn he is her childhood friend and he wants to avoid that i my opinion.

Where is it shady? ML asked him not to tell. I don't understand why people don't like him. He's nice and he thought ML was a bad guy because of what he saw. He likes FL but he didn't do anyhting wrong so far.

In my opinion, he didn't fall in love with the older version. He was really moved because she helped him and comforted him a lot. As he has a trauma, he certainly attached himself to her because she was nice to him and the only one really understanding him.
I'm not sure if he fell in love yet. He just cares a lot about her.
