Is it just me or is it more violent and bloody (a bit gore even) than usual historical dramas? The way he was beating her in ep 2 was quite a scene π . π§

Yes I agree, I also didn't like this at all. The problem with these BL is that they most of the time are written by women and it seems to be a fantasy to have a violent or toxic guy changing his life around for another. They also really like top/bottom stereotypes. I agree with you. In this case, I think the drama is really good so I just do with it but it shouldn't be the norm.
I really love this drama but I hope in the future, no one portrays a gang r*ped scene as a light-hearted or nonchalant…
I don't feel like it was portrayed as light hearted or nonchalant at all? The way the scene was filmed with the door closing and the overall actions of ChiCheng in this episode were giving psycho not in a good way. I think only a few people were not bothered by it but I remember everyone was talking about that and was shocked. And I guess it was to show how ChiCheng was different with WSW. But he was always showed as toxic with everyone else than WSW (for ex with the doc many times). But I agree they shouldn't have filmed it at all. I personally was really shocked to see it. But as it is a drama I was able to delete it from my mind to enjoy the series but I would never belittle this scene. The fact is this series is about toxic people and toxic behaviour and without agreeing With their action, we can also enjoy a drama nonetheless.
Wow okay so holy fuck? I am assuming thereβs more to the story about the death of the Princeβs kin, so Iβm…
We could see the moment he touched the Yao flag in her dad's chamber, he began to remember his past and lose more of his "present" so it didn't come out of nowhere because we had already seen many times when he forgot about details with FL. So I think, him planning the murder of his step dad was understanding because he was losing this past year memories. He wasn't feeling attached to FL most of the time in the end. Only his vengeance was important We saw how much he loved his brother. I'm only at episode 35. But if I'm not wrong we know that his brother is still alive and kept hidden in the cave by the Empress right ? Finally, I think it's interesting in the next episodes to see if love can transcend all this. When he was Jinan he was such a sweet guy,he must me a nice guy as the Prince as well.
Yes! I didn't expect to be sucked in this world when I started watching. It's a very pleasant surprise. But iQiyi…
I've just checked if I had english subtitles in ep 13 and 14 and I had french subtitles (I'm french)! So thanks to you I discovered that iQYi had french subtitles available on many dramas, not all and sometimes machine translated (like Hunting) but! It used to never be available so I'm really surprised π and I wonder since when did they expand their available languages. π π€ I'm quite behind with only 7 episodes but too much dramas ongoing.
I have watched the 1st trailer a long time ago. I don't even remember it but I know CZY is amazing so I'm watching this for sure. Do you know if it's really angsty or if it's funny?
Now he doesn't have powers anymore. I'm a bit disappointed. I still love his character but I feel a bit empty…
Ok so I've watched ep 30, 31 and the beginning of 32. What I was fearing is happening . He forgot about her, I suppose he will remember but we'll see. I just want him to remember everything. I think I'm not blocked anymore but it's a pity I preferred the drama before the Crown Prince began to mess with them.
Ok guys, can someone tell me if this series has scary scenes or jump scares ? Like i usually dont watch horror…
Just in episode 1, if you're prepared for the jump scares it will be ok and some awful faces. And then it's quite alright so far. Nothing I would class as "horror"after the 1st episode.

Thank you, it gives me hope! I don't plan to drop it, I just lost momentum for a bit π€ and because I started too many dramas at the same time π€ and I've got to say I didn't like the arc with the crown Prince.
